Hi I'm trying to get a recommendation for a Mac hub. I currently have a hub which I bought because I used to have a FireWire audio interface – which I no longer have

I am using much more hardware synthesisers and if I power my Mac via my current hub it causes a lot of unwanted power hum noise. This noise disappears as soon as I plug in the Mac’s own PSU.

Ideally looking for a hub with a few USB 3 ports and a dedicated HDMI and card reader. I am not sure if there are any Hubs which don’t power also power the Mac as that seems to be the issue.

Any thoughts or experience of these issues gratefully received

Why are you powering a computer from a USB Hub in the first place?

Because it’s I have 4 ports on my Mac and that means one less port that I need to use. I need to get a new hub any way as I currently have 2 displays connected to the hub and it’s causing him whenever I have it plugged it

Looking for a recommendation for a Mac hub which doesn't cause noise hum.
