Is this a form of supersaw?

How to make that sound...

1:35, before the second verse starts. I know it's a simple sound to make, but I'd like to do it with some reference and when I search for supersaw tutorials it's always either for leads (and these are chords) or the trance-y filtered type. Maybe there could be a specific name for this bright, punchy version?

Thanks.

A supersaw synth can definitely do it but this sound has been around since long before the JP-8000 was released. It was usually done with samples in the early 90's. If you can find an old Roland M-DC1 sound module or the AMG sample CD that was featured on it, you'll find this sound.
