It’s a pretty cool MS-20 style filter. It has switches on the back of the module that lets you setup either side as low or high pass. I have an MS-20 mini and would say that this filter is a little tamer than the one on the synth, but handy to have in the case. If I had free cash I would probably swap it out for a Threetom MS-22, as that seems to have way more of a wild side and takes up less hp. But, it is twice the price.

Did you sell the Nebulae?
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

nope, i don't have anything that replaces it (not even sure it's possible, given the firmware possibilities) so it will stay for next case, or if i have an idea that needs it ill switch it with something.
just needed the space for those multiple hour long samples :hihi:

Thinking the set of Behringer rip off/cloned modules is looking seriously impressive for the price (parking the morals debate). And Marbles and Ripples clone are in the pipeline.
Could be the basis of an excellent starter system ?

with marbles/maths/four play/four lfo, thats a lot of cv control for plaits vs ripples.
all great modules, but for one row, might be a bit much.
although, it will also be used for the arp i guess :)

Good point. But then I just came across their intended SEM clone for a few hundred notes. So stick it all in a B. Go case and still not a lot of money as a starter setup.

the 4ms oscillator looks interesting, youll have to let us know how you get on with it :)
So, the ENOSC (ensemble oscillator) of 4ms is in. I have only been playing with it for like an hour but i m really enthusiastic about this one.
And i think this module would be right up your alley, Vurt.

The range of complex sounds you can make with it is pretty extensive.
You can can all sorts of sounds from classics like
organ sounds, all kinds of pads, drones, supersaws, supersquares
to
techno sounds and hoovers (at a moment i was getting all sorts of hoovers out of it)
to
all sorts of scifi sounds, distorted ~guitar sounds, ambient sounds, bubbly evolving sounds....

Adding some reverb and then playing with a filter is really fun. Instead of feeding it notes, I also got some nice ambienty sequences by dynamically changing the chord structure, ...

There is also tons of modulation provided; i hardly got to it yet but i already got so many tones out of it. The video from Blush response shows that it can also go very aggressive with all kinds of techno sounds, EBM basses etc.

The controls gelled well with me; i do advice that you read the manual to understand the inner working of the additive oscillators. I read the manual while I was waiting for the module to arrive.

The build of the module is high quality.

EnOsc was fun. It takes some learning, but creates quite a variety of timbres. Although personally, I had access to a lot of things that would get into similar territory. I kind of miss it, but rack space and budget and cognitive capacity are finite and I have a set of killer oscillators as it is :)

I felt like it deserved to be a bigger module with attenuators for the CV inputs though, because the best results come from more subtle modulation most of the time.

ok, now it's pretty damn cool!
was before really, nothing wrong with having a lot of control, just so long as you realise before you get it.
it can be easy to grab a few cool modules and realise afterwards you've got duplicate functions or something.
but it is better to have too many modulation options than too few :)

but with the sem on top, if they get even close to the sound of that, that's a killer rack, especially with the arp on top :tu:
