Still don't see any emails - checked my Spam folder as well. I don't have any filters blocking Roland emails, so not sure why I'm not getting anything from you.Jon at Roland wrote: Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:41 pm So sorry about that EnochLight! I emailed you back but maybe something got lost in the mix. I'll send you the information via email. If you are able to make it that's great!

I think I've already said, D-50 is the only decent RC plugin. Juno is OK, but Tal's version is much better. JD-800 is nothing like original, completely sterile. All other plugins sound the same - there is no difference between System 100 and JP-8.zvenx wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 9:23 pm I have been trying out a few of these recently (I have had the TR-808 for over a year and quite like it).
My biggest surprise was how good the D-50 sounds in software.. I don;t remember it sounding this good in hardware.. I do remember comparing tons of times it with the M-1 back in the day and ended up with the M-1, but maybe because the Korg's M-1 software is old and in Korg's software infancy they didn't do that great a job with it, but software Roland Cloud's D-50 blows my software M-1 out of the water.
My biggest disappointment is how unimpressive the Roland Cloud J-8 sounds. Maybe Tal's J-8 has spoiled me for much too long (and there again i don't remember the hardware sounding as good as the Tal's J-8), but I definitely am not impressed with the Roland Cloud's JP-8 even at version 2 (the Juno 106 RC sounds much better to me strangely).

It's hard to explain what happened... It seems they employed Arturia's engineers
BTW, software Korg M1 is excellent. It sounds "thin" at the first glance but in Global settings, set output gain to +12dB. It's fat and powerful!

My M1 is set at 6db, not sure if louder will make it anything more than louder.
I actually have a working T-2 still and I have compared the two, not quite there, but it is older modeling technology Korg would have used since its been out what, about 18 years? Actually I think it is the reverb on it that is the weakest link.
But I digress.. yeah the D-50 is the best sounding Roland Cloud instrument I have tried.
I still have a working JV-2080 and the JV-1080 and even more so the XV-5080 in Cloud format are big disappointments.

Subjective. I've got both and really don't understand why people rave about TAL's so much - it's really not that impressive compared to Roland's own Juno ACB. I like it well enough, but I also like Roland's Juno as well.

Agreed fully on subjective.
I was part of the zoom meet yesterday and I seemed to be the only one not really impressed with the ACB offerings thus far.
I don't have access to any of the hardware that they emulate anymore, but compared to Softube and Tal offerings I really am not impressed AND they use more cpu too. ( I am not an arturia synth fan so I never a/bed them directly vs arturia, though I have a/b'ed them directly with tal and softube)

Well crap - can you mention whether anyone on the Zoom meet asked about a JX-8P ACB at all?zvenx wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 2:17 pm Agreed fully on subjective.

We were told upfront that participation is not akin to an NDA. (It was an NDA Free Zone).EnochLight wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 3:38 pmWell crap - can you mention whether anyone on the Zoom meet asked about a JX-8P ACB at all?zvenx wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 2:17 pm Agreed fully on subjective.

So it isn't that I can't share.
I just don't remember if it did come up, sorry.
There was an online survey that only you could see your own input, and one of the questions indeed was what do you want from Roland Cloud next so someone might have done it there.
(For sure when it was introduced I wasn't a fan of the JX-8P myself. Someone came with one and stayed at our family house for about two weeks, I think after the first two days of playing with it I stopped. Which in itself was interesting because around that same time I was playing in a band for two years, that one of my keyboards was a Roland JX-3P and I quite liked the JX-3P.)

And what if it's not subjective? How do you even know what's subjective and what's objective?

So here we are in the middle of Roland’s biggest annual cloud promo, and there’s zero news or buzz or even a hint at anything to look forward to in the upcoming year? At least try and sell me. I’d settle for a promise to fix the XV-5080 patch display bug.
