I'm having a minor issue where Logic "quit's unexpectedly", but only when I'm closing a project, and then it's only sometimes. On macbook Air m1, Ventura 13.4.
10.7.6 was the last iteration where I had no problems at all. Might have to go back to it.

It does alreadyEnGee wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 6:57 am Anyway, I have changed from Big Sur to Monterey to Ventura on the same M1 and I'm sure Sonoma will run fine on my chip. So why worried?!

Worry in case some program or plugin gets broken due to changes under the hood. While hopefully, this is far less common, I'm sure it will happen. Update carefully!
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

So far I encountered no problems. It's still a beta, though, so the new stuff is a bit rough around the edges (widgets, the Lock Screen, for example) But so far it behaves exactly like Ventura. All Apps, DAWs, and plugins run fine.syntonica wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 3:58 pm Worry in case some program or plugin gets broken due to changes under the hood. Intrepid soul! Thank your Mac for its sacrifice.sQeetz wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 4:34 pmSo far I encountered no problems. Now that Carbon, 32-bit, OpenGL AND (mostly) Intel are gone, I hope Apple settles down and just works on the Grand Unified OS instead of breaking stuff. iOS has some cool stuff in UIKit that I'd like to see on macOS. You can see the iOSification in the new macOS System Preferences.

I believe the only way is to backup your whole system via Time Machine and use that backup point to revert to the old version. Not really sure, though....roman.i wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 4:50 pm Curious if I update Logic via App store and want to revert to the previous version, where I can download the previous version ?

You copy your existing version. Change the name and archive it. If the new version doesn't suit, then simply open the archived version and change the name back.roman.i wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 4:50 pm Curious if I update Logic via App store and want to revert to the previous version, where I can download the previous version ?

I usually just compress the thingy in place, but whatever works best for you is the way to go. Renaming is faster if you have the room.Bombadil wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 5:51 pmYou copy your existing version. Change the name and archive it. You should consider backing up your current working project, if not all of your projects as well. In case anything goes wrong, you can always restore.
Once you're satisfied everything works as it should, you can breathe a sigh of relief!

They haven't updated the Logic Pro trial version from 10.7.8 to 10.7.9 yet. Is this common for Logic Pro trials or does it indicate something?
I guess one reason is reinstalling a new version probably resets the trial period, but I haven't experienced it myself yet as 10.7.8 is the first version for me.

In case the update introduces a bug that I can't workaround, and prefer to skip the version until fixed.
