EMU APS installed in WinXP with drivers I found on web (no "KX project" which is not handy at all, but original modified for WinXP), and worked fine.
After a Windows reinstall (because of a problem occurred), i have this situation :
Using the same drivers (in the same PC) and the card have been installed, so i can see it in the device manager. It is the "Creative EMU10K1 Audio Processor (WDM)" :
In the Audio properties window, the card is enabled :
When i run an audio file, for example in Media Player, audio is playing but i have no sound from card's line out jack :
My PC
motherboard MSI 865 neo 2 PE
CPU 3 GHz
RAM 4 Gb
OS WinXP Professional SP3
Video Card Nvidia FX 5200
I have tried to install the EMU APS in Win95, Win98, Win2000, WinMe, WinXP, WinVista, but there is no sound, always.
I gave the card to a technician who repairs cards (general, not especially audio cards) to tell me if there is a problem with a circuit or something else on the card, and he told me that "it seems that the card is OK".
I am trying to make it work again, now and for 1,5 month with no luck.
EMU APS installed in WinXP but no sound.

uses drivers for another EMU card processor, i think the X-Fi Processor. Mine is EMU10K1 EDF. When i tried to install these drivers i received the message that cannot detect hardware for these drivers and after i force it to install i received the message in DeviceManager that the device cannot start.

I think that asio4all is not drivers for the card to work. Correct me if i am wrong. Do you mean that after insert the card to PCI slot and boot into Windows XP, and after windows detect a new hardware, i must not run-install the WDM drivers, at all ? But install the asio4all and see if i will have sound ?
But if windows found a new device they "ask" for an INF file to receive instructions on how they will communicate with the new device in order to make it work. Does the installation of asio4all have a INF file point to EMU APS ?

Hi, in my experience, centered around Reaper daw, you find the device preferences menu , and would select asio4all as the asio device driver. It's purpose, in part, is to enable some level of asio for devices that didn't ship with their own asio driver, or had lousy ones. I would ignore the windows
wdm, direct-sound, and wasapi, and see if you get sound from the main outputs, or the digital output, using Reaper and asio4all. It might also be lucky to check in your bios, in case you need to disable the onboard soundchip, if it's getting OS approval before your emu card.
The Reaper 13 meg daw demo runs unrestricted for 60 days. It is known to be good on older hardware.

You need the correct audio card driver, so web searching is your only chance.
Uninstall any guesses at what the driver is because those are incorrect. You've got to spend time searching for an old driver , maybe on some forum.
If you can uninstall any driver then get device manager to install anything basic after searching for new items, then you can get audio to pass thru and use asio4all. It's an old card and old operating system (xp).

Sorry for late response but i have not got my own internet connection.
My PC was build with a big effort. First time i made it work, it was before years (maybe 7-8) and it was consisted of three HDD (one PATA and two SATA) . The PATA one, had on it, installed Windows XP and it was used to work only with the EMU APS audio card (PCI). The one of the two SATA has installed on it Win 7 and was used with another audio card, the Audigy 4 (PCI). The second SATA HDD was for storage sound libraries and stuff like these. All these to work with no problem was very difficult for me, not only found which hardware to fit each other but also spend time to found them in market and buy them. Took me much-much time maybe years. The reason, why i want it to build like these, is that i want to use an almost professional card (like EMU APS) for recording purposes, and the Audigy 4 for using software like Sibelius, FL Studio etc.
Fortunately at that time, it worked and i was lucky because when i boot my PC, show an option to boot in WinXP or Win7. I thing this was because ,maybe, i first had installed WinXP and then Win7. And i said "maybe", because i do not remember the whole procedure of building it.
After a problem had occurred, before two months (i remember that my PC was shutting down suddenly, and i found that this was due to a faulty PSU,wich now i have replaced with a good one), i had to reinstall, WinXP from the PATA HDD. Then appeared two main problems :
a) The very handy option of choosing the OS (WinXP or Win7) in the boot beginning was disappear and i think this is because WinXP had now installed after Win7, and as WinXP do not "know" about the existing of Win7 bootloader and it's host HDD, they ignore it and boot directly in WinXP without give me the option for choosing.
b) The EMU APS audio card refused to be installed in the PATA HDD with WinXP, as i have described in my first post.
Except my, now and for almost two months efforts, I already have spend many days or months to found the proper drivers in my first attempt (before 7-8 years) and the crazy thing is in those days they have worked, with the same motherboard the same OS the same CPU etc.
I do not know why now does not work now. Why my EMU APS card do not have sound.
Anyway, thanks for your help and advises. Now i will follow your advises for asio4all. I will do this :
Uninstall all drivers. Use asio4all and Reaper to see what will happen and i will post the results.

There is a chance that your faulty power supply has taken down and damaged your precious audio interface.
Repeat what you did then: install Win7 and you might get dual boot back.
A "vintage" system you had for 7 years, probably that old when you got it... Companies write off their hardware in 3 or 4 years. Support by Microsoft of XP ended in 2009, "extended" support in 2014. I think you took it as far as it could.
The next generation of second-hand (PCIe) hardware is waiting for you.

Now about asio4all and REAPER :
As seen in the pictures, REAPER detect asio4all and EMU-APS card (it is the Creative EMU10K1), but in both cases which are:

I am starting to think, what "BertKoor" told about the faulty PSU damaged my card. But here there are two questions must be answered :
1) One of the best technisian examine it (as hardware ie off board) and told that it seems to work fine.
...truth is that he did not examine it with help of some special equipment (because he did this, only for very expensive cards for cars, costs 5000-6000 $). He just used some usual devices and check it for about 5 minutes.
2) If the card was damaged, did Windows (and software, like REAPER) would detect it, and have a Device Manager report that "this device is working" ?
....but maybe the faulty PSU cause a specific damage, only to some kind of bus from the EMU10K1 processor to the outputs and inputs.

When you select asio4all, did you press the configuration button in Reaper to get to asio4all's control panel? That should tell you if the audio card is working.
But sure it may be a faulty card that comes up as working.

Windows can only detect whether it can interact with it over the PCI bus. It won't sense it when a DAC or opamp chip is blown up.
Have you tried recording with it?
Does it have s/pdif digital output?
Is it worth to gamble buying a cheap separate s/pdif DAC to test that?

When i selected asio4all, i did press the configuration button in Reaper and i can configure the buffer etc, but i have no sound.
The card has, except two analogue mono outputs (one left, one right), two digital mono output (SP/DIF) via RCA interface (one left, one right). These two, also do not give sound.
Yes, i tried to record something but no sound comes in...
Windows detect the card, so the golden pins and circuits dedicating to the communication between card and motherboard (and so, windows) are OK, but it seems that something is broken, between card's processor and outputs-inputs interface of the card.
If there was a way to detect it, off the board (or on-board) i would tried it because i have a multi-meter.
While the card was onboard i have measured volts at output analogue jacks, to see if they get voltage, and i read 3 or 3,5 volt, so i consider that they were OK.

After seeing an EMU card repair video, I began to suspect the two capacitors on the card.
Can somebody tell, from the pictures, if one or both of these two capacitors are faulty ?
Or can somebody tell me how to check them ? I have a multi-meter.
