A ton of people disagree with you, what is there to "get"?simmo75 wrote: Thu Jul 27, 2023 5:13 am I don’t get this emulation, the Avalon isn’t special at all.

My understanding from reading various forums over the years (so grain of salt) is that the Avalon VT-737, was indeed very high quality and used all over a ton of big records in the 90s, 2000s, and beyond. Whereas some of their newer products aren't quite as well-regarded.

People still having it (never got it myself) mention the tube distortion followed by the air band EQ, the compression in itself seems to not be what they are after when they use that unit... Ironically

Which is prolly why now they're talking to a plugin coder.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Jul 27, 2023 3:23 pm My understanding from reading various forums over the years (so grain of salt) is that the Avalon VT-737, was indeed very high quality and used all over a ton of big records in the 90s, 2000s, and beyond. Tried it. Sounds fine. Should make people who like analog-like plugins happy.
My computer hasn't given me a BSOD in over a year... until I was using the Kazrog plugin demo. Needless to say, I deleted it. I have other things that sounds fine, too that don't cause a crash. I cannot say with 100% certainty it was the plugin, but I'm pretty confident it was related.

The demo works fine here. No crashes. Windows VST3 version. Perhaps the issue is down to a specific format?
I tried it out of curiosity. I am in no position to purchase more plugins but IMHO plugin sounds more than decent. Just very very good and silky. The silly word I know, but I suggest you try it on your sources and on Master Bus. It's a workflow that seems to be "working" for me and the sound is really good.

Guess the "Jumbo 747" preset in old Nebula (Acustica Audio) mimicked this hardware. It sounded gorgeous.
Too sad the plugin (Nebula) itself was buggy, at least on my system.

Edited for clarification

You guys should let the devs know about the issues you experienced. AFAIK Kazrog is fixing their stuff so let them know. I am aware it is inconvenient for some, but it will be solved faster if you let them know about it instead of hoping KAzrog read this place. They probably read forums from time to time but I assume their email address is a better and faster way to report problems which will hopefully lead to addressing your issues.

You can use Who Crashed -software to examine BSOD - it'll tell the driver (usually its driver) or hardware.vitocorleone123 wrote: Wed Aug 16, 2023 1:32 am Tried it. Sounds fine. Should make people who like analog-like plugins happy.

Demoing. Sounds awesome. Just like my hardware 747. Unfortunately i cannot compare side-by-side as my hardware needs servicing, but the result sounds just like what i'm used to.
And very cool that the software can do faster attack and release times.
Was always surprised that nobody emulated this yet. A secret weapon for many mastering engineers and producers. The Avalon 'air' band is world-famous and used on so many tracks.
