This should be an easy question, but how would you rate them out of ten in providing you the best balance of quality and features v price?

And this has got what to do with the "Hosts & Applications" forum?
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

No other forum fits the category, and the question is very clear in relation to your DAW. So I'd say it has a lot to do with Hosts and Applications.

quality, features & price are three different dimensions, so one would need to place a point within a 3-D grid, which I cannot get my head around with headphones

Well, I stopped using Ardour because I am trying to separate my music setup from my laptop. That being said, back then, I used it with the Shure KSE1500, which are electrostatic in-ear monitors and what I use today for everything else.

10 out of 10 for quality and features. It is portable and the amplifier has a battery so I can work on or listen to music anywhere. Another similar set of headphones I considered is the Focal Stellia, but they are a little more bulkier.

5 out of 10 for price. I only justified getting it because such technology has still not been replicated elsewhere, and to firmly decide on one set of listening equipment.

I'm confused what daw has to do with headphones..

Am I not allowed to mention the headphones I use to reference my masters in foobar?

I have JBL that are great, but I also have a pair of noise canceling from Soundcore. I use both because each has a unique sound.

No other forum fits the category,
yes it does, them being hardware, means the hardware forum, is perfect for this
which is why there is already such a thread there and has been for a while.

i do not use headphones.

Hardware forum?
For first composing I use 20€ Creative in-ears, I've used to how they sound. For later composing, mixing and mastering I use VSX, and they're very near to ten if I'm asked
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

The forum is called "Hardware (Instruments and Effects)" so it doesn't fit either since headphones are neither instruments nor effects. There isn't actually a forum on KVR that fits discussions of headphones, speakers, MIDI controllers and other peripherals.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

That's accurate. A midi controller forum would be welcome (by me).
Monitors and headphones, too, i suppose.

What's the best headphones for use with my DAW, does this mean sound designing, composing, tracking, editing, mixing, mastering? Not an easy question at all.
The cans you have been using the longest?
Closed back Sennheisers for tracking, open backed AKG for the rest. A pair of $20k usd monitors in a well treated room for mastering.
Can't go too wrong with a set of AKG K240s for the price. i like my Grado 320s for (casual) listening. AKG 701s might be on my shopping list. Ideally i would like four or five sets.
