I have the Arturia version and have a real love for some of these synths, but it's a horrible cheap plastic looking box that does not seem to have much love or care involved.

and is fully midi compatible, so use a sturdy controller and hide the tiny box.
sound is what matters!!

It sounds nice .
Seems there is also a eurorack version that also outputs the XY joystick data, so you could also use it as a controller.

…which are in high demand and short supply
This sounds pretty great and I love the small size. Anybody seen a price yet?

The formfactor is terrible, that bottom piece looks like it wants to snap off in a backpack at the first sign of danger.
I hope they do some of these in a larger module format.
That said, I wonder if this will bus power a midi keyboard? I could see someone taking one of these out of the terrible shell and implanting it into a midi keyboard for an all-in-one synth keyboard.

These will be fine. If you've used a Volca and accept the limitations and exploit its possibilities you'll get along with this. Great sound. $99.00 wow.

I found a different video that shows it is a bit chunkier than I imagined but it's really dead weight to me. I strongly dislike the formfactor. It's something they could have improved upon over the Volcas instead of copying the general concept of the keyboard part.Scotty wrote: Sun Jul 30, 2023 10:01 pm These will be fine. They could have improved the functionality by removing the fake keyboard and provided more controls. I don't care about the price, I care about functionality. Most are going to be hooking this to a midi keyboard anyways.
I think they could end up remaking these in a larger case with more poly for more serious work though in the future. This and the JP thing. There has been some consideration of that on their Social Media comments, but we know how long they take from idea to product on shelf.
In any.. case.. I stand by my view. You're welcome to yours.

Thanks. I accept your view. I guess it depends on what you expect or need. This is actually closer to the Modal Skulpt/Craft than the Volcas in terms of form factor They likely will have their pro full version but I don't need or want another massive synth sitting here. I see the fake keys as a simple trigger device when you are shaping sounds. Typically, you can sequence the filters and other parameters internally and feed the unit midi notes or just sequence everything if a full midi spec is on offer. IF a person bought two of these there are midi plugins that will allow poly chaining to a degree , if that feature isn't already built in.
