Okay. That's good to know that you will at least be able to audition/preview the samples from the internal browser before loading them into GenoPatch.Shabdahbriah wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 3:31 amNeither will have to be 'added'.MrJubbly wrote: Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:48 pmThese are some common workflow improvements that will need to be added to this synth, if not supported upon the forthcoming v1.0 official release.Shabdahbriah wrote: Sat Jul 22, 2023 6:59 pm Again, I'm having good results with short (2-4 second) mono (16/44.1) .wav samples, rather than loading longer samples, and using the selection bars (starts here/ends here) portion of the sample, within the sample waveform view window, which are a little small for my eyes.
[edit] Sorry I misread one thing as previewing the sample within Genopatch (which it does), so the sample 'auditioning' within the sample 'browser' prior to loading it, is being worked on, as it is highly requested.
What about support for Drag and Drop of audio files from DAWs browsers and/or other Audio Editing software, directly onto the Genopatch UI?
Because, that would be the ideal workflow feature. Given that most users like to search for and audition samples via their DAW browser (it tends to be much quicker and easier that way). And many users are also used to dragging and dropping audio samples directly into plugins this way.
If the beta/RC build of Synplant 2 doesn't yet support this, it would be great to know in advance, so that I can make the feature request on the Sonic Charge forum (I already own all their current plugins).
Thanks.

Yeah hopefully samples can be loaded by dragging from a sample library tool like sononym.

The A.I. sound matching in Synplant 2 will be extraordinary! See this preview starting at 19:20:
EDIT: Sorry, I see this video was already posted earlier in the thread.

I think the Vintagetonic sound set for Microtonic and Synplant 2 prove how poor (most?) humans have been at programming sounds. AI seems to be a hundred floors above us.

didn't he say it took a long time to feed the model examples? like ages? can't recall.. he mentions it in that video though.. he had to teach it..MaF wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:12 am I think the Vintagetonic sound set for Microtonic and Synplant 2 prove how poor (most?) humans have been at programming sounds. but yeah, generally, the machine learning stuff can end up being a really good programmer/sound designer.

well it comes up with things, a designer probably wouldnt even consider?dayjob wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:48 pmdidn't he say it took a long time to feed the model examples? like ages? can't recall.. he mentions it in that video though.. he had to teach it..MaF wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:12 am I think the Vintagetonic sound set for Microtonic and Synplant 2 prove how poor (most?) humans have been at programming sounds. something like that i guess. teaching it w/machine learning it approximates the sounds as best i can with the synth engine it has.Ameyah wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 4:02 pmwell it comes up with things, a designer probably wouldnt even consider?dayjob wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:48 pmdidn't he say it took a long time to feed the model examples? like ages? can't recall.. he mentions it in that video though.. he had to teach it..MaF wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:12 am I think the Vintagetonic sound set for Microtonic and Synplant 2 prove how poor (most?) humans have been at programming sounds. so, where i sound designer might know how an 808 cowbell was made or 808 hats or something.. and try to approximate that w/the given synth engine.. the Ai knows it doesn't have those same components available but knows itself better and how to 'fake it' with what it has available. so yeah.. exactly... comes up with things a designer wouldn't consider.. seems on the nose.. unless the designer knows the engine as well as the machine learning do-hickey

Yes, it took a long time to train the AI. I'm sure this is going to happen faster and faster. There probably comes a time, when AI learns the ins and outs of a given plug-in (or any other 'environment') in milliseconds.dayjob wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:48 pmdidn't he say it took a long time to feed the model examples? like ages? can't recall.. he mentions it in that video though.. he had to teach it..MaF wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:12 am I think the Vintagetonic sound set for Microtonic and Synplant 2 prove how poor (most?) humans have been at programming sounds. yeah.. he talks about in the video how he had this basically worked out long time ago but it took a full day to render the results and now because computers are so fast it only takes seconds. so, as w/all the things faster/better etc as cpus get better.. but at some point i hope those cpus get cheaper too!MaF wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 4:33 pmYes, it took a long time to train the AI. God I can't wait. I hope it will be relatively easy on the CPU.
