The "Init" creates an initial sound with echo and probably some reverb, and I can't find anywhere in the UI to control it...

Version 1.2 in Cakewalk, Win10
baalisoda wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 7:05 pm Sorry in advance, if I sound stupid for asking this, but where do I find the global effects section (according to the developer's manual, there is an effects section containing per Voice fx followed by a Global fx section with delay, reverb, and others. While I do see the Voice FX section, Global FX seems to be missing in my UI - using Infernal Synth's 1.2 version in FL Studio 21 on Windows 10 here).

Also, the init button does not seem to be initializing everything, I still hear loads of fx in play by default.

Appreciate any guidance on this. Thanks!
you have to change to Edit Global and afterwards you can change the parameter of the effect or change the routing on the left side.

Easier way: Use clear instead of init

Post

Init is basically an "initial" patch ... use the "clear" button to get a full reset.

You won't have any routing after this ... so you will have to set it up again for your patch. Maybe save this one as your "init" patch.

Does anyone know how we can use pitchbend? I use it all the time for expression on synth and sax tracks. Anyway to map the pitchbend to a another modulation source and then fire that at .e.g OSC cents?

I would really like to have some space (could be gitlab or anything else) to collect presets (for the developer and the community). Any ideas where?
The synth is really interesting and free (open source).

The approach with the frozen noise as an osci is really good. You can create interesting flanging effects by hitting two keys at the same time (always a slight and different delay). Snares like Skinny Puppy in the good old days.

Disappointing to see a Windows-only synth this month. There are so many free instrument plugs out there, why pick one that excludes so many people?

Hey guys.

Indeed the "init" patch is not silence, it sets the plugin to some default supersaw-like config with a delay line on top.
The "clear" patch is absolutely minimal, just a sinewave with no fx on top.

The entire voice section (osc, env, per-voice lfo, per-voice fx, per-voice cv/audio matrices) and the entire global section (global fx, global lfo, global cv/audio matrices) are on separate pages. All the fx in voice are filter/shaper only. All the fx in global are filter/shaper/reverb/delay. In the "edit" section (where you can also select ui size and theme) there is a toggle button between edit voice and edit global. I'll take this as a usability improvement, obviously ;) Although, not sure exactly how to improve.

I'd post a screenshot where the buttons are, but, can't seem to find a way to upload an image. Probably just overlooking something.

[Edit] Well, i see that was already answered. You guys are quick.

Thanks! Curious to see how that plays out.

You can't, I never implemented it. VST3 does not explicitly define pitch wheel, but it does support midi cc messages. And, by the looks of this https://forum.juce.com/t/cant-see-any-m ... in/38102/5 and this https://github.com/juce-framework/JUCE/ ... d82d7cd016, i suppose it can be done. Put on the to-do list.

I could set up a github repo specifically for presets. That'd still require me to hand out write access to anyone interested, so, if you know of something more user friendly, please tell.

Thanks for the reply re pitchbend. I can fudge it with parameter modulation in Reaper ... might give that a go ..

That could be a starting point. To overcome the problem with writing rights, developer (GitHub User) can use fork and merge requests. That could be easier for you (IMHO). Is it possible to upload files in the issues section? Or people could send it to you.
I would start with a directory structure like Surge XT (pads, keys, drums, percs etc.). But perhaps others have better ideas.

i dont see a way to fm one osc to another? is this possible?

In osc->sync section you can select the sync source. You have to select a "lower" osc as the source though,
so you can sync 2 to 1, or 3 to either 2 or 1, but you can't sync 1 to anything. Once you synced one osc to another
you can apply fm (osc->sync->fm) to the target osc. FM is also a modulation target, but it will alias *fast*. So,
better stick to sine-shaped lfos or slow-moving envelopes.

Set up a public repo over here. https://github.com/sjoerdvankreel/infer ... th-presets
Should be open for anyone to fork + pull request. Of course if anyones interested in contributing and dont like the hassle that is github just mail me a preset and ill see that it gets there.

No idea how folder structure should be yet, group by type/contributor/whatever. So I left it empty for now.
