Has there ever been an explanation why UAD doesn’t do MIDI learn? None of their plugins have it, correct? Crazy. Yes, more important than the fade… but, both could be fixed!

Because like Enron, UA are always "the smartest guys in the room". They used to send out surveys to make us feel like our input was welcome but they usually only paid attention to which future plugins we were interested in.

btw, I like their stuff and used to love them as a company, but then they hired a bunch of Avid execs and transformed into a very different kind of company.

It does at least support host automation which means it is controllable using NI Komplete Kontrol enabled keyboards (and Maschine) - I made NKS templates for all the Creative Collection to enable hardware control (see my sig)

It's a roundabout route, but you can also use midi learn in Komplete Kontrol to map anything loaded into it to any midi controller

yes. i just purchased the API vision channel strip and got a voucher about 4-5 hours later in my account.

FWIW, my last 3 purchases from UA did not receive the Thank You voucher. YMMV.

Hmm, this makes me wonder if they only send them out to you at first, to hook you in like the pusher man. I am relatively new to the UAD ecosystem, incidentally.

The brief fade-in only happens once when you load the plugin into your project. After that the interface opens normally. Not a problem IMO.

Interesting - the good stuff I heard in the past was probably from that older era then.
ATM this smells more like they try to pull a Waves.
And Avid killed more good things than can be named, so hiring their execs should be a brilliant move to get the Titanic underway.

I actually love it if I have some kind of high regard for a company because of "things I heard" and then a single product demo puts them on the "never bother again" shelf.

UA make a software synth that is quite possibly the best / most analogue sounding vst synth + They then decide to give it away for free + People still find something to moan about it = Plants are better than people

I got it now for free with my Loopcloud subscription. Love PolyMax for that fee.
In general, the Loopcloud goodies during a year are a big Pro to keep THAT subscription.
