Yeah, don't we just love lists here. Only for this one let's list every single effect plugin out there. It's going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong thread.

After Gain & Pan, comes EQ.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

That's Shirley a narrow-minded and unimaginative way of working. Missing a lot of opportunities by sticking to a fixed ideapsynical wrote: Sat Aug 05, 2023 2:40 am call me quirky, but i like putting the instrument before the effects.

Anechoic Room Simulator first, then ringmod. Nothing else.

But he/she is keeping that aspect of music production simple. I understand both schools of thought . . . more (options) is more and less is more. I'm torn . . .

At the end of the day, order of plugins is pointless if you don't use Acustica plugins. Most likely you're trying to work with cold and sterile digital plugins as iZotope or FabFilter, but they would never add that depth, width, warmth, edge, weight, and sillky sheen to the high end as Acoustica would do. It's not only about how you use it, is about what you use aswell

Or just make your source material warm and silky rather than trying to fix everything with effects, unless you want cold and digital which is also okay.

I created this thread to share and generate ideas on the processing chain sequence, but I'm realizing how involved it can be and wondering if I shouldn't just focus on the song and source material (recording itself) and then beg someone with the experience, skills, and passion for mixing to take over. Any thoughts? I have another thread To Mix or Not To Mix . . . I guess these threads overlap.egbert101 wrote: Sun Aug 06, 2023 11:44 am Or just make your source material warm and silky rather than trying to fix everything with effects, unless you want cold and digital which is also okay.

Exactly, don't mix at all, and just have fun making music, and choosing sounds that work together. If you simply can't live without some kind of effect, then gradually add it in, as minimal as possible.

So much time and money invested in FX Plugs. Any suggestions? Delete and move on? One part of me thinks about cleaning house, and I have a sense of freedom, then I freak out and think about the loss.egbert101 wrote: Sun Aug 06, 2023 5:56 pm Exactly, don't mix at all, and just have fun making music, and choosing sounds that work together.
