I have the Cherry Audio rockmode vst, but it's a bit hit and miss. Sounds good on somethings, less so on others.
Cost effective recommendations desired. Thanks

For absolutely free, there is this: https://www.adamszabo.com/vstplugins/phazor/
And, it's actually one the absolute best, freeware or payware IMO. Hard to get a good VST phaser, like anything involving a filter.

pffft there's heaps
Softube Fix Phaser

From your list, there's 2 alone which I wouldn't use, because they just don't sound good to me: PhaseMistress and Godfazer. Fix Phaser is nice, but costs 99 € regular, Instant Phaser didn't really impress me much either, and Phazevibe I don't know.
Instant Phaser is 99 € regular as well. Sure, you can wait for a sale, but, when will it happen? OP asked for cheap stuff, which I read as "cheap now", not in months.

I tried the Fazortan which sounds lovely and has two lfo's and that is definitely a plus as you can modulate more complex rhythms.
The BLEASS one is also good, a bit shinier perhaps, but super resonant almost to the point of self modulation. It also has two lfo's, but one is for spread the other frequence. anyone know if that's the same for the Fazoran (and the machinery it emulates).

OhmForce Mobilohm. It's the cat's testicles and it's free. In fact it sounds as swirly and wooshy as a cat licking its testicles. I'd go so far as to say it's dubtastic.

Don’t have the D16 or Nembrini. The others are really good. But I eventually gravitated towards using Dr. Phase for a “classic” phaser sound.sqigls wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 10:09 am pffft there's heaps

But don’t sleep on NI Phasis. I think it’s very good.

It's offered here on KVR second hand for a fracture of that at the moment...

Seems that Fix Phaser requires Ilok. Sorry that's a dealbreaker

Yeah. I tried installing some eventide demos during their recent sale. They also use ilok. It was a mess and I coudln't get them to work at all, no matter how many times I tried. I can't risk spending money on something for it not to work. I wish companies wouldn't use it. I'm sure there's something else out there. I might wait for a license transfer for the Arturia Bi tron as the manual pedal mode is pretty cool. I also like the Bleass product.

^^^^Perhaps a user error or outdated equipment problem.
Softube and Eventide plugins work flawlessly for years on my different system set-ups.

Perhaps. but using these things just adds the possibility of there being problems. I'm sure the plug ins are great, but if I can't get them to work it's of no use to me.martinjuenke wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 6:51 pm ^^^^Perhaps a user error or outdated equipment problem.

If you have Acustica Nebula, this, along with the mod pedal pack is fantastic
https://www.timpetherick.co.uk/download ... c-phasers/
DDL Phaser is also great, if perhaps not archetypal for classic dub phasers
And the dark horse is BLEASS phaser, which can do some really fun stuff. It leans modern in its sound, but can be tweaked to be pretty great for classic phasing
