I hear that! Id like to see more of those as well. I'll make a note of this for you and pass it along. There will be more updates in the future.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun Jul 30, 2023 1:44 pm I don’t have a Mac so as the last bunch of updates were basically just M1 Mac stuff I’d like some more v2 updates like they did with the Junos.

Not sure which others have been updated, but my D-50 and XV-5080 say they have updates.
Sadly the XV 5080 Name glitch is still there.

btw I think you said you were disappointed with the JV-1080 and XV-5080, if it was you can you say why?

Hi, I don't think I ever tried the JV-1080 at least not in a few years, I might have years ago, so hopefully what I said was that I was disappointed with the XV-5080.
Well apart from the fact that the hardware was multitimbral, and the software isn't afaik, I still have a working JV 2080, the XV 5080 was supposedly an improvement and I prefer the sound of my hardware 2080 when I try out similar patches in 99.999% of the times.
But I once stop expecting it to be exactly like or an improvement of my 2080, it is usable.

ah ok, thanks.
I get the impression that there was quite a difference between the software versions of the two after a very quick listen.

between the software JV-1080 and XV-5080, yes. Apart from Roland saying they are different I got the distinct impression that the JV-1080 sounded a bit thin, maybe a touch harsh and the XV-5080 sounded fuller. That was my impression from a very quick listen, it might be that I simply happened upon presets that were in that direction.zvenx wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 4:22 pm Between the software jv-2080 and xv-5080?
I thought it was mostly gui and some patches that were different.. No?

The Zenology EXV (not sure I have the right letters) were different again, a bit muffled and muddy. Someone said that because there had been no reverb in Zenology previously the presets simply had a longer release and that accounted for the muddiness.
