Fazortan2 and Dr Phase are where to start if you won’t use ilok.

Another dark horse: Sonic Charge Echobode. It's nominally a delay with a frequency shifter in the loop. But there's a phase offset in the loop too, which you can modulate with an LFO. Delay time below a millisecond, said phase LFO, plus a little bit of that frequency shifting makes a *great* phaser sound. There's a few ways to stereoize it as well, and diffusion. Very underrated plug IMO.

I never thought of using specific phasers for specific styles as they just.... phase to me.
But lately I use the free Full Bucket phaser very often although I have many paid ones.

A more complete solution, but with a nice dubvibe.

How would any phaser be more appropriate for dub than any other phaser?

The free Ohmforce & Audio Damage phasers are pretty good.

So, if you're after the classic Lee Perry sound you would want to use a Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, and the Arturia version is a very good emulation of this.

Dusty Devices's Phaser-DDL is great.

Based on the Ensoniq DP/4

Bearing in mind that the original had a single Rate knob and a Color switch on the front panel, Fazortan 2 stands alone as a completely new device - made obvious no less by its GUI - expanding on the features of its hardware counterpart.

Check also the other Audiority modulation effects. They are all very convincing and musically useful.

Guitar effects such as Amplitube or Guitar Rig are a good place to look.

Waves has Kaleidoscopes which does chorus, flanger and tremolo as well, you can chain 2 of them together or run them in serial. Plus it has a character switch that gives a different tonal choices for each effect. Very flexible, but maybe a bit over the top.

Then there is Arturia's offering, Bi-Tron which is a Mu-Tron emulation. Simpler but with heaps of classic character.
