Ableton or FL Studio ?

Do the demos. I've had both and FL is (kind of) intuitive, Ableton Lite was a steep learning curve.

It’s a matter of workflow rather than a technical one.
Once learned, Ableton turns out to be one of the fastest (if not the fastest) DAW from your head and heart to the “finished” track.
To enhance its power you can use an amazing amount of tools available with M4L, without the need to learn it (unless you want to become a real power user), by just using an outstanding amount of ready made free/paid tools.
And the whole experience is enriched by an infinite amount of YouTube tutorials created by some real professionals (and bad amateurs as always on YouTube realm) with amazing knowledge.
You are well covered.
Experience the workflow by demo both DAWs.
90 days it’s plenty and justified time for making a decision for a DAW that should serve you in your music journey for years to come.

I'll also say Ableton has some stuff (FX) FL doesn't. Some great effects in there.

They're both electronic music / dance music DAWs (not to say either isn't usable for other genres, but the aim of the makers was dance music, especially with Ableton as the company was founded by two techno guys) so that chart would probably be similar for Ableton.

This was pretty much my experience. Started as an FL Studio user, tried Live once, and never looked back. Since I had nothing to compare it to at first, it took me a while to realise just how much the mixer routing, "patterns" system and such drove me up the bloody wall. Far more people are leaving FL Studio for something else after noticing how the programm really works than leaving other DAWs for switching to FL Studio...
Of course because of the "No resale" policy they are listed as official users but the amount of people using FLS on a daily base is quite low in comparison and the vast majority are "beat makers" means they rarely produce full songs but at the very end just "loops" of 1-2 minutes so they hit the problems of FLS quite rarely...
I am (was) a FLS user and if I had to decide nowadays starting freshly from the start I would go Ableton in this case for sure!
In retrospect, I can see why certain people swear by FL Studio and why others switched away/avoided it altogether.

I think FL Studio is easier to pick up if you've never used a DAW before. It feels game-y. Not in a negative way or I'm trying to put the DAW down but in a fun entertaining way and the developers keep throwing new things at you with frequent releases.I It's engaging. Ableton is a more "serious" no nonsense, or frills, just a grid based take it or leave it interface.
Overall if I had a choice I'd go with Ableton because its still works like a traditional DAW regardless of how the interface looks, or the Session view (which you don't even have to use if you don't want to). FLStudio doesn't work at all imo like a traditional DAW, they've been adding some features here and there to make it more DAW-like but the way tracks, patterns, the channel rack, and the mixer works would be completely foreign to someone coming from say Logic or Cubase.
My only really issue with FLStudio is the constant management of windows inside the DAW. I hate floating windows in modern DAWs if it isn't something like just a dialog to do something or a plugin window. I don't want to constantly keep expanding, minimizing, and moving windows around to just work on something.

Yes, but it´s a bit hidden...
You have to doubleclick the clip to get into the editor and use the marked controls...
Set the number high enough and moving the knob to the left expands it while to the right it shrinks it...
The example was an original 4 bars clip stretched out to 16...

But of course you have a point here... sadly many things to do is overcomplicated and simply not as straight foreward as it could be or as we see in other products...
This is sadly an issue going through the whole programm.
I have no clue why this is the case but I really hope that some day they will be able to implement more straight foreward solutions.
