13.9 kHz here
i have to raise the volume quite up though

this 12-14k is also the permanent Hz of my tinitus...

I am actually hitting 15khz, not bad for an old man.
I'm 46 and can hear up to 20kHz. But I value my hearing more than doing any test like this which may damage it.

One month of dog food and I’m sure I can get there as well.
Right now I can’t past 15kHz either with those iPods.

Pretty useless test. There are two things to consider: how sensitive are your ears to a frequency AND the volume. Second, after hearing a louder sine sound at around 6-8KHz, your ears are slightly "dimmed".
It is better to make a test with a synth with a good oversampling and do this in steps, not with a sweep. And wait for a 5-10 seconds between each steps. The last freq I sensed in Vital was 14KHz. Then the aliasing kicked in and didn't consider it as a fair test anymore.

With those steps I had to increase the gain.

And the test needs to be administered by someone other than the self.
Doctors often tell of the problems in dealing with their clients in that they often either can't communicate a condition or equally will lie about it.
People often try to cheat on their eye test at the DMV and hearing test when in a group of musicians.
The other thing is that you may indeed hear a15kHz tone while still having a damage at 12kHz (or any other frequency along the spectrum). And on the lower realms (5 or below) we often can't hear it but mostly can feel it.

I have this problem with probably 90% of the Reaktor synths. There's a frequency I call the Fran Drescher effect that I seem to hear that no one agrees with me is there. I'm not sure if they can't hear it or if it just doesn't annoy them like it does me. I know I spent hours trying to EQ it out with different plugins and never found any that got rid of it. It eventually became the top reason for no longer using it. Not even the free version. (And long before giving up on NI for its other atrocities.)

I do hear a higher frequency in Vital that seems relative, however, it's not always there and it doesn't annoy me.
There are some plugins that we just don't get along with.

I think even if this member posted examples that it might be the same in subjective perception.
But I also see this thread really just wants to bat something back and forth and has little to nothing to actually do with Vital itself.

Has anyone contacted the developer or has had need to? The thread has become a TLDR for me...

The developer, Matt Tytel has been pretty much MIA for months.

I read that, but that statement feels vague to me and doesn't exactly answer my question. What, if any, was the last contact or attempt to contact the developer? And was it for a specific support issue or (pre)sales question? (e.g. Steinberg has never answered any of my sales questions, but always answers support issues. And KV331 has often "gone dark" only to appear later with the majority of fixes to answer everyone on the boards all at once.)

Jump to page 207. Teksonik hits on some specifics.

Okay, read 207 and could only find a comment by someone else reporting crashes in Reaper. Tek only stated and defended an opinion that they consider it to be abandonware. Still not seeing the contact, response and timeline of that one issue or others. Or if there were/are others...

But no matter, I've spent too much time here and need to go to something productive now..

Okay, downloaded/installed Reaper and ran Vital under vst2 & vst3 & CLAP. Seems to work fine and without issue.

Had anyone experienced the GUI of Vital suddenly going almost blank? All the animations stop, all the text labelling of oscillators and modulators vanish and I'm left with what looks like an incredibly simplified remnant. This only seems to happen if I've got a few instances open in one track.

I also had one patch which constantly generated a mid range bubbling/popping noise even with no input at all.

Cubase. If/when the visual thing happens again, I'll post a screen shot.
