Cubase 12 not apple silicon???

I just installed the trial of Cubase 12 - elements actually.
It runs under rosetta 2, the ‘Open Using Rosetta’ box is not ticked in Info. Activity Monitor shows it as an Intel application.
I thought Cubase is already silicon native, the heck?

(I guess you are having one of those morningsDefault mode: Rosetta
For best compatibility, Cubase 12 / Nuendo 12 uses the Rosetta mode. However, there is an issue with the option found in the Application folder→ select the app → open "Get Info" panel.
In the app info settings, you can choose whether Cubase 12 / Nuendo 12 should "Open using Rosetta" or not. After the installation, this box is not ticked. However, Cubase 12 / Nuendo 12 starts in Rosetta mode anyway.
Currently, the workaround for this error is as follows:
Tick “Open using Rosetta” (check it)
Close the Info window
Open the Info window again
Tick “Open using Rosetta” (uncheck it)

Yeah definitely. To be fair I got a new mac a couple of weeks ago. It’s my first M1 or M2 actually and just got to it today to set it up. So I’m trialing many things at the moment. I have to say I absolutely love it but also have to admit it has been a PITA to set everything up. Literally what has apple done to their os. All these permissions and authorisations do my head in. It used to be like plug in everything, install drivers if necessary and bam all done.
It took me 2-3 hours to make my RME interface work?? I guess it’s smooth once it’s all up and running but it’s been a journey and millions of left clicks on the ‘Yes’ and ‘Allow’ buttons.

sure once you're up and running you'll forget the hassle.

It's been no worse to me than all the authorizations I've had to manage from various plug ins. Especially those that offer only one drive based authorization. I've been doing everything off an M1 Air and moved to a M2 Studio, so literally hundreds of plug ins. Waves and NI being the absolute most tedious. It's the one time that iLok dongles win, zero worries with them.audiouser720 wrote: Sat Aug 12, 2023 2:08 pm Yeah definitely. To be fair I got a new mac a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure why RME took forever for you? I have a Babyface and it was a simple reinstall of the driver.

That's exactly why I stopped at Guitar Center on the way home from the Apple Store with my new M2 Pro Mini and picked up an iLok key haha. Only saved minutes, but it was sure nice not to have to reauthorize everything again and just drag it over to the dongle and plug it in to the new Mac.machinesworking wrote: Sat Aug 12, 2023 3:45 pm It's been no worse to me than all the authorizations I've had to manage from various plug ins. Did the RME not pop up any of the security stuff you have to allow? I see that every now and then. My MOTU 828x was about a 2 minute install. Think I had the whole new Mac up and running in a couple of hours and was back working in Cubase.. (Big thanks to iCloud for storing my Desktop/Documents/etc)

Just got an M2 MacBook Air. I’m keeping it very simple. No iLok. No Cubase, Wavelab or even Logic.audiouser720 wrote: Sat Aug 12, 2023 2:08 pm Yeah definitely. Only added Ableton Live, Reaper, Fabfilter and U-he for audio software.
Even with a small install, there’s lots of weird little thing like webpages showing up mobile versions.
Aside from the weird bits, this thing is crazy fast!
