Concern about plugin trackers?

I hope this is the right place to post this. I know most free plugins (and perhaps even some paid plugins) add trackers to their install applications. I don't like it, but it's the trade-off -- 'tis what it is.
However, there is a new (-ish) plugin out there that, when I tried to download it, uBlock Origin blocked the link from opening. It's never done that before. When I looked at the blocklist, it was massive. So, I didn't download it. Sad part is, this particular plugin seems incredibly useful as a denoiser, and it's being touted by some very reputable YT channels.
I currently use Bertom, which I love. But I think GoYo and Bertom in tandem could be a perfect match for removing noise whist doing as little damage to a signal as possible.
What are your thoughts on trackers attached to plugins, and on this particular plugin as well?

I don't think it's anything worse than what Google does. The issue I have is companies selling email addresses. You usually have to give that for free plugins.

tell name of plugin and what format you need it (VST2, VST3) and i will try to get it and unpack it from the installer so you will be cool with itirpacynot wrote: Wed Aug 09, 2023 10:28 am I hope this is the right place to post this. A lot of the sites use excessive amount of tracking - like google does. Some of the download links are blocked by uBlock Origin, true. For these I'd use a throwaway browser, like install portable firefox and use it in private mode (where every exit clears it) to download the data you want.
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

Hmm...I thought the trackers plant on your PC. So, wouldn't it be a moot issue regarding which browser you use?legendCNCD wrote: Thu Aug 10, 2023 10:13 am A lot of the sites use excessive amount of tracking - like google does. The one I experienced this with is called GoYo. It's a denoiser/vocal separator.jamcat wrote: Fri Aug 11, 2023 3:01 am Which plugins install trackers?
Shouldn’t we start a list of shame if this is happening?
But I'm not trying to shame anyone. For all I know, they handed the process off to a third-party company that specializes in this sort of thing. My only interest here is making sure I'm not doing true damage by inviting a malicious tracker onto my PC.

the only tracker Ublock Origin found here was for mlsend dot com, which is used by MailerLite (email marketing service). if you read the goyo privacy policy, it does say that they use MailerLite to send you email.
i'm not educated on this stuff at all ... but my guess is, it is not trying to hurt you. it's likely just signing you up for their newsletter so they can sell you some shit later. We NEVER share your personal information with third parties except when doing so is necessary to provide our products and services to you or to comply with a legal obligation. For example, we use MailerLite to send you email.

Are you referring to uBlock's check of their site, or the information when you click the link to download the actual plugin from inside the email they send you?funky lime wrote: Fri Aug 11, 2023 1:19 pm the only tracker Ublock Origin found here was for mlsend dot com, which is used by MailerLite (email marketing service). if you read the goyo privacy policy, it does say that they use MailerLite to send you email.

Yeah, I saved the email, and just copied the link into VirusTotal. They didn't find anything. I'll probably end up downloading it, then, and checking it out.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: When I downloaded it and scanned the actual executable, VirusTotal had three vendors flag it:
