Lionel's written some top notch luuurve songs in his time, but none better than this for my money. Those harmonies.

Ugh, this is a schmaltz-zone for sure. I hate most of it, some is ok, but nothing that I love TBH. Now, the following is probably not the kind of thing that is meant, but it's schmaltzy, just way way before anyone's time here. I really like the movie Paper Moon, so I think that's why I really like this song, but, knowing that it is a depression era piece adds more interest for me. Enjoy as the world continues to fall apart while we watch.

so, like, this schmaltzy songs thread got me wondering and
possibly connecting dots wrongly, again
i vaguely remember reading something about sociopaths
not being able to feel guilt, love, compassion, etc
so, i thought,
"does this mean sociopaths can't relate to love songs"
and if they can't do that then they don't go around
writing love songs?
so, i thought,
"hey jimmy page might be a satanist, he might be a sociopath"
but then i found out that the love song "tangerine"
is written by him
but...
then i "researched" it some more
and found this at wikipedia:
Although writers do not question who composed the music for the song,[c] there is some disagreement over who wrote the lyrics. In addition to being credited as the songwriter on all Led Zeppelin releases, Page claims to be responsible for the lyrics: "I'd written it after an old emotional upheaval and I just changed a few of the lyrics for the new version".[19] "Tangerine" and "Dazed and Confused" are the only Led Zeppelin songs with lyrics that credit Page as the sole songwriter.[6][d]
However, Case, Shadwick, and Williamson identify the Yardbirds' song as a joint or co-composition by Page and Yardbirds' singer and primary lyricist Keith Relf.[6][2] Yardbirds' drummer Jim McCarty and bassist Chris Dreja both assert that Relf wrote the words for "Knowing That I'm Losing You";[18] they and Jane Relf (sister and singer who also performed with Relf) believe some of his original lines found their way into "Tangerine".[6]
