Ok voted a bit on a very strict schedule this time so probably subconsciously catchy melodies (unless too cheesy so the effect is kinda reversed) favored over multilayered complexities (sorry ppl).
Best of luck to all but especially to bram fx he needs to win this round for the shake of the Monty Pythons spirit of mocking anything and everything.

7x5pts - 13x4pts - 19x3pts - 3x2pts - 1x1pt(me)
Great "one instance" compositions, in this round! I decided to change a little my ranking assignement giving focus on tracks with original, innovative style, ideas or with more emotional impact for me. by the way great synths...great fun, great Full Bucket and great all of you, oscers and contest admins!

Voting done - and i think this is a first for me: Commented on every track
I guess 95% of my comments aren't usefull due to my limited skillset and ability to give good advise, so i mostly pointed out things which catched my attention and i really liked
I think this time I have to say a few words about my voting:
For a while now, I've been voting using an Excel spreadsheet where I've given people points from 1-5 in various categories and determined my final vote from that. I've found that I tend to give 5 points to half of the submissions - and to be honest, that feels right to me and I'm happy with it - but if I'm honest (even to myself), the 5 points completely lose their meaning. So I did something a little different. I made four categories to have a finer distribution of points from 0-10 in each:
1. do I like the track? My subjective opinion.
2. mix / master. The production quality of the track
3. composition/interestingness/creativity.
4. sound design.
Then I take the lowest score and set it to be equal of 2 points and the highest to 5 points and I was really unhappy with the result. So I changed it to be more generous. I ended up with 8 five points (19.05%), 16 four points (38.1%), 13 three points (30.95%), 4 two points (9.52%) and 1 one point (2.38%). I'm still not happy with this system, but I think it will get much better with further tweaks. For those who got two points from me: In my old voting system, all of you had at least 3 points and some of you were even in the 4 point range. So none of you made a bad track - Just to clarify. I just did this so my higher scores wouldn't lose their meaning. Imagine you get a bad placement in the Olympics, yes it's a bad placement, but since you are in the Olympics you are still an outstanding athlete. So I hope no one feels bad for getting a lower score from me, you all did an astonishing job

Voted. What a great month again, so much great music in there ! Following the trend I spanned a little more my votings using more the '2' box. So 3 is for me an already good track... Jeez, It feels pretty hard to vote for more than 40 entries... Good luck you all

Voted. Amazing how many 5-points I had to give this round. Fullbucket snythesizers are probably inspiring.

This was my first time with a Full Bucket synth after hearing so many good about them. I think you're right, the synth sound felt inspiring for me.Frank Geppert wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 12:47 pm Voted. Amazing how many 5-points I had to give this round. Ok I have done voting. Mostly a good group of songs again but I did have trouble deciding how to vote on a few controversial tracks (IMHO) which I ended up giving all a 3 but could easily have given them a 1 or 5.
