No we don't want Arturia turning into NI. They're already doing the Augmented stuff that nobody wants.

they have some
:) Yes but I mean something like Kontakt, Falcon or Halion but more user friendly better UX and GUI. If someone can get the crown from Kontakt that would be Arturia
Not to get too off-topic here-- honestly I doubt if this is possible, lemme explain: The bazillions of sample libraries out there... they all use Kontakt. If say, Arturia released the god of all samplers, better programming, less CPU usage, lower rates to pay, whatever... they still wouldn't have any (or many) libraries to GO with that, unfortunately. And it takes a lot of time and effort to rescript those libraries for a new sampler. The only way I could see to get around that would be to provide a tool that will convert Kontakt scripts into scripts for whatever-new-sampler.

But yes, it could be cool :) though I also agree with egbert

I sorta agree that the Augmented series is okay but hasn't really set the world on fire. So aside from a bottomless pit of old synth recreations - a law of steadily diminishing returns - where DO Arturia go next?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I think there isn't a single great rhythm / beats plugin from anyone on the market (not acoustic drums). There's always at least one - usually more - significant limitation / flaw. I have it that the replacement for Stylus RMX will eventually take that crown, but since that is currently scheduled to be released in 2087 by one of Eric Persing's great grandchildren then there's still an opportunity for someone else to swoop in before then.

UVI has put out some good beat options, all sample based though if that matters. Percussion factory was the latest, it's pretty solid for creating simple loops or ear candy. Beatbox anthology and Drum Designer were solid as well. But their GUIs have no consistency and can be cumbersome/irritating. It would be cool to see Arturia's take on a solution.

I have Drum Designer and I don't like it at all. One pre-requisite of any good beats player the ability to work with WAVs. So far the best I have is XO, but there's lots of functionality missing there too.

Anyway, not the place to discuss the hundreds of alternatives out there as it would take over the thread. The point really is that since they discontinued Spark Arturia have ignored beats completely and it is rich pickings. If they've spent this time designing something really well thought through from the ground up, it would be a wonderful thing.

Arturia needs to redevelop Spark, it already had classic drum machines emulations and if I remeber correctly there was even some light physical modeling stuff. The product was just too complex to use, they need to scale it down, I would particularly like a single voice version to place it on Drum racks in ableton/bitwig. I personally hate mixing inside drum plugins.

We all agree where they should go next: some kind of f*cking cool drum product. Unfortunately, the only people who seem to disagree are Arturia. :hihi:

Yes it's a great drum machine - my favourite other than Reason Kong as it combines samples and synthesis and is very flexible. It still works actually on my Ventura M1 system (using Rosetta) which is amazing considering how old it is.

:( What. I like the Augmented stuff a lot. I just want them to merge into one single VST where I can buy additional packs.

Yes the Augmented Synths are fantastic.

I feel the same about a lot of products - NI have all those separate drum libraries where a single product with expansions would be much more useful. Ditto basses, the Light series, Lores / Fables...

That was a smart thing Spectrasonics did - one big ecosystem. Then they have bonus patches for those with Trilian / Omni and Keyscape / Omni. Could see that model being attractive for Arturia's Augmented range.

That Augmented line doesn't belong inside the V Collection which is only missing drum machines. Wonder what they were thinking
Actually Augmented Strings and Voices are already in the V Collection 9

Do you know what V means in the Arturia V collection? Yes, that's right 'vintage'. LOL vintage Augmented samples.

This keeps coming up - I thought it was decided that V stands for Virtual?
