Maybe look at some of Spectrasonics’ Sonic Extensions?
https://www.sonicextensions.com/
Or the myriad of 3rd party sound designer’s packs for Omni (idk if there’s any for Keyscape, never looked).
If you just want something in addition to Omni/KS, I’d personally say look at Kontakt over Falcon, but that’s just IMO owning all three titles in question. Falcon is honestly my least favorite for whatever reason. People think Omni is bad with having to dig into menus and submenus lol.
Also idk why ppl always ragging on Omni’s UI/workflow lol? People’s attention spans now days always needing to have their Hypothalamus tickled or something lol.

This is a true insightotwer22 wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 7:30 pmOp something I noticed around here is that people put out a lot of posts that are sarcastic or posts poking fun. I think the thing to do is not take it seriously, or take offense to it.
Sometimes one wants to warn about signs of GA$ or sockpuppets but realises everyone's already gone too far down that hole, so one just pokes fun at it

Anyone else stop reading here?
I think the OP should buy every soft synth under the sun and the more expensive the better. wheeee

What, because nobody else here buys shit just because they can? Yeah KvR people are so frugal and don't buy any toys and if they do it's only because they absolutely have to, spend as little as they can and nobody here has more than 1 of any type of effect or synth, really, honestly. Does that sound like the real alternate universe KvR that you live in?
Me, I'm with Quality 808 Junkman. One can NEVER have enough toys. As the man says "toyz make U happy"

As said earlier, Falcon is a really excellent super synth... You can find a ton of great sounds and the synthesis capacity are enormous...
But....
I also agree that it can be funnier to go for more dedicated synths...
On that, definitely Phase Plant is a champion. You won't find bette workflow for starting a sound from scratch.
I also love Twin 3 from Fabfilter. It has limited features but the UI/Workflow to produce sounds is top notch.
Diva, Hive 2, Serum, Spire, Avenger are obvious contender
Finally, if you want to find a "character", a "certain sound" I would recommend you to keep Onisphere, and taint your sounds with great FX plugins.
You can achieve a very large palet of sounds "personalised" in your way like this.
The best choice in my view to do that is Output... Thermal and Portal in particular are just crazy (movement is very good also).
For normal effects, Fabfilter is king to me, but for creative, fun, transforming effects, I haven't seen anything better than output suite...

I’m not using Bitwig any longer but… I think that the u-he CLAP version of Diva, Hive, ACE etc. can produce sounds not available in any other synth on the market.
In other words: you can have fun on collecting toys but the CLAP thing in Bitwig is on another level.
Ok… back to Live

If you haven't been persuaded to look into the Omnisphere sound-packs of Theunfinished, Sonicunderworld or Luftrum, then I'd steer you more towards NI's Kontakt. Tons of paid for and free libraries, to suit all tastes.QualityJunky888 wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 10:56 am ...I want more of what I love about Omnisphere and Keyscape
Perhaps. Not because Omnisphere can't be beaten, but because unless you're really careful the whole process can turn out to be a never-ending journey of search-and-acquisition. GAS is its own monster...and it's a very hungry monster indeed.QualityJunky888 wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 10:56 amAm I doomed to be disappointed in my attempt to match or exceed what I have
Of course, that's not the case for everyone. And there's nothing wrong with spending any amount on this, if it gives you some enjoyment. Perhaps just temper expectations. The Spectrasonics stuff sets a high-bar. Just spend time playing through the 'Atmosphere' part of the library. I owned that back in 2006, and it still holds up today.
Also, I'd advise (presuming you haven't done so already) to make use of the Sound-match features, randomising 'The Orb' etc. Also, explore the sound-sources. These offer a huge amount of variety of really good material that can be swapped in and out to easily create great patches. These are easy ways to get more of what you like about Omnisphere

I can’t imagine a better or more intuitive work flow on a synth that complicated. I think it comes down to people just not being able to handle a synth that complicated. That’s fine. There are plenty of more single purpose synthesizers that have everything on the screen at one time. Sometimes I think that they’ve never discovered the right-click-modulation-assign method.i need Help wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 9:32 pmAlso idk why ppl always ragging on Omni’s UI/workflow lol? The UI isn’t perfect. There’s a bunch of wasted space, especially on the effect “racks.” A lot of the synthesis types and options aren’t the best sound quality available in software. But that’s sort of like criticizing an RV for being an RV. I never open it if I’m looking to cook up a basic wavetable sound. I’m sure it would be fine for that, but like taking your RV to drive your kid to soccer practice. I load up Omnisphere when I want a large and interesting sample library to mess with and then layer with other synthesis types. It’s awesome for that.
