I've been looking for an Apple Silicon ready replacement of Cytomic's The Drop. How does the quality of the filters on u-he's Filterscape 1.5 measure up compared to The Drop? Is The Drop still king in 2023 or is there anything else on par?

Thanks. I love The Drop, but I've moved to using only Apple silicon. I'm hoping The Drop gets updated soon.gentleclockdivider wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 6:44 am WHen it comes to vintage filter emu's 'the drop ' is still king.

I agree. I just can't tell if Filterscape is intended to be used as a basic analog-style filter. It seems much more complex than The Drop.

You can use Filterscape as a basic filter, but it's obviously a more feature rich plugin than a single filter.jackson881 wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2023 12:56 pmI agree. I just can't tell if Filterscape is intended to be used as a basic analog-style filter. It seems much more complex than The Drop.

these are so very different. i can't see a world were i don't own both. they both are so useful but in different ways. the Drop sounds incredible and has great modulation and is more of a classic type of thing but still very capable. it will be apple silicon native eventually. he just takes is time and is updating various packages associated w/all his plug ins. but imo well worth the wait.
filterscape is a big package of all the things but still focused on filtering and FSU type stuff for me. maybe it's a bit more complex? idk. i use them both in different ways. the delay in filterscape makes it something else indeed.

With the peak filters in Filterscape, since there's a single EQ module it doesn't appear that I could e.g. have hard -panned left and right peak filters simultaneously, and the Filter section doesn't have a peak filter so I gather it's not possible to use peak filters in that sort of L/R fashion?
