Crickets!! And birds!!

EDIT: First time listening to this album (Skylarking) and I'm really digging it. White Music is probably still my favorite but this is really good.

I had completely lost interest by this stage of XTC's career. I can't separate the first three albums but after that they went down hill, more and more rapidly. I had every release up to and including Towers of London, 7" and 12", but after that I lost interest. Mummer and Skylarking were the final straws for me.

Yea for sure after Drums and Wires it lost it's charm. Those first 3 albums are dynamite (god bless alcohol).
However listening to Skylarking, I'll give that one an exception.

Black Sea is good, English Settlement is OK (may have been better as a single album), Mummer is awful, The Big Express is bearable but after that they were doing something completely different to what I wanted to hear. I just had a listen to the first few songs again, for the first time in 40 years, and I still don't like it.

What the hell is wrong with these lazy producers?
