Arturia drops Acid V

They also got a quote from Hardfloor. Wonder what those guys really think

Ooh and a bad ass demo track on the website and presets in the instrument from KvR's own Aiynzahev. Love that guy.

Just listening to the sound demo, it once again appears to me that they didn't quite get the resonance right. Gotta demo it though to judge it more fair.

That said, I think it's cool that they approached the 303. Fits their portfolio.

For me close enough is good enough and as they tend to do they add one some really nice extras that make it totally worthwhile. That said I'll likely wait until V Collection 10 hits for this one.

I'm not sure why Arturia hates drums but it's clear they do. I refuse to give them a single penny until they apologize to everyone who listens to music with drums and do something to rectify the anti-drum bias that clearly exists at the highest levels within Arturia. Only a change in leadership can rectify that at this point. Nothing less will do.

i see can drag and drop midi file to the DAW but would be nice if the seq had midi out. it looks like a fun sequencer.. would be nice to apply it to FM, wavetable synths.. samplers..

seems like if they were gonna do it they'd do the faithful recreation but add a bunch of special sauce to make it so much more. the 303 is a funky useful paradigm for creating music and if they added different sound engines it'd be so much more interesting. FM really sounds amazing when doing acid style stuff with it. it can be really squelchy and digital but also really percussive.

I have Phoscyon 2 (think I only paid 50E for that) so don’t need this. Hard to think of anyone who wants a 303 VST that won’t already have one…strange release.

I see what you did there with the title. This really does look like a masterpiece from Arturia. 14 different distortion algorithms, and that Polymetric sequencer, amazing stuff.

Can't understand why we would need anything else after ABL3.

ABL3 is still the benchmark for me. It’s one of those “just right” plugins where you don’t really feel the need for anything else. Not sure on a sub either, some sounds are just better as a single osc.
