I think they decided to close the business for now at least, the guy posted this message on their discordplanet_b wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:33 am These mentions for Tantrum made me curious about it.. but the developer's website says "this product is out of stock"..

Providing support, and running a business while working full time is alot of work and we're probably taking a break. Sorry for the disappointing news, but it is what it is. Take care

Thats sad to hear as Creative Intent has some good Plugins. Hopefully we can still get the latest Installers somewhere.

BinAmp is getting heavy use here - it's almost addictive like a good guitar pedal.
Otherwise Coldfire is nicely creative, and for any kind of "I want to bring out the highs/lows/mids but not add the harshness of an EQ boost" scenario then Wavesfactory Spectre rules forever.

Soundtoys Decapitator (if it needs to be quick and basic)
Acustica Gainstation (mostly for bass heavy things)
Acustica Mystic (nice tube color)
Softube Tape (pretty subtle, but good at doing the tape transient thing)
Oxford Inflator (classic especially for busses)

My go-to are probably Decapitator and Inflator; sometimes I use also the enhance feature of the Oxford Limiter.
To be honest, I have a decent amount of plugins and I use them depending on the situation… and I’m not afraid of using them on parallel chains, if that’s what I need… so, plugin names don’t tell the whole story.
Decapitator is important because it can really change the sound (and it offers a great level of control for the task); Inflator is a “make it sound better” tool… other than those, everything goes… but then even a simple one knob drive plugin can ve turned into something more advanced, once in a parallel chain with eq and everything ese.

I just realized that isotope neutron added a bunch of trash distortion algorithms. It's multiband as well. There are 4 base modes but then a tone slider that seems to go through many different algorithms as well. Might be where they are putting their Distortions now. I always loved the trash compressors and neutron has multiband compressors too.
