Shouldn't all controls be possible to map to MIDI? Surely there is no such oversight by BabyAudio.

They do map to automation - I just made a NKS template for controlling this with Maschine and NI keyboardsbmanic wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 3:10 pm Shouldn't all controls be possible to map to MIDI? Surely there is no such oversight by BabyAudio.

I keep thinking about how this would be an amazing, but probably difficult to create VST.phantomne wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 11:27 am Workflow is cool but the price to pay is that you have to use the built-in effects. If I wanted to use, let's say valhalla vintageverb instead of the built-in reverb I'd still have to go the old-school automation route, or am I misunderstanding the plugin?
Where you have slots for external plugins, so plugins within plugins, but internal modulation like here or with Infiltrator or Stutter Edit.
Being able to rhythmically trigger effects parameters from different VSTs would be amazing.
But if you look at how buggy SuperPlugin, EffectGrid and others are, loading plugins within plugins does seem to be no small feat. But imagine the possibilities...

^^^ Voltage2 is pretty stable for me(not like VCV2) so
can mix the internal (CV) an external (MIDI CC) freely with the converter rack modules
or the same with Gatekeeper
etc.

It's a nicely packaged plugin, a review I watched says you can't have more than one instance of an effect at once, so you can't add two low pass filters in the chain you come up with.
Something like this is trivially easy to make yourself in Bitwig or Renoise - without being limited to the included FX on Transit, as you can use any VST effect. You can save whatever you create as a group to recall whenever you need. SnapHeap is a good cheap alternative as well, except you have 8 macro knobs so therefore could set up multiple scenes per instance.
Comes down to motivation to make your own solution, vs paying somebody else to save you the time. I personally don't like Huang, his whole shtick is so gratingly false and I personally won't be supporting him here.

What percentage of your FX plugins have a MIDI learn system for CC control of params? I've got well over a thousand plugins and I'd say only a small handful do.zvenx wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 4:05 pm Right, but as i know you know midi cc control is different thab automation.

It's not a problem for FX (instruments are a different story) as long as there are automation parameters.

Agree 100% this is a money/time trade off and very easy to recreate in Bitwig. I'm also not sure why anyone needed Huang to remix Turnado either. This is an influencer play that reskins decade-old UX with some minor tweaks. But for $60 it makes sense for a lot of people.. maybe even for me outside of Bitwig lol.
As with other tools that bring music creation closer to DJ'ing or rhythmic gaming I think it removes some of the artfulness. If you are using someone else's purpose built genre trope helper (it is marketed as a transition helper) are you trying to make art or are you trying to make a product?

Actually, pretty much, yes. I was just demoing Transit and compared workflows. Bitwig recently introduced native track and project modulators and with them it basically works out of the box. It can be as easy as a single click to modulate any parameter of any (third party) plugin (in the entire project if needed) with the added bonus of vastly deeper modulation options. Cool plugin, but I don't think it makes sense for a Bitwig user, unless you'd want these specific fx and presets.bmanic wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 10:09 am But is it a single point and click? I've never used Bitwig so I have absolutely no idea how it works.
