A very simple Cubase question

I'm relatively new to Cubase, having used Fruity Loops and then Reason for many years. I've encountered one strange thing which is frustrating me. Please be kind, I'm sure this is a ridiculously simple thing and let me say in advance, I've been using DAWs for years.
In Reason, if I draw in a midi note in the piano roll, and pressed CTL+C/CTL+V the note would paste at the end of the copied note. This worked for entire clips too. I cannot figure out how to do this in Cubase besides copying, moving the cursor to the next beat and pasting. This is laborious. Better then that is CTL+K, and selecting the amount of copies I want (this works fine). I'm just so used to a DAW behaving a particular way and if there is a shortcut to get Cubase to paste a note directly after the one I've copied, I feel like my workflow would actually flow.
I've made a few of my own key commands but I'm not sure how to even describe what I'm trying to do. Kvr, please help.
Beyond this, I'm still learning Cubase and loving it- so I anyone has any nice little tips to share, don't hold back.
Thanks in advance.

Must admit that for years (decades) I've been duplicating parts in the arrange window by alt click and drag the new part(s). So if I want to create 8 parts I have to altclick copy 1 part, highlight 2 parts then altclick copy them, highlight 4 parts then altclick copy them. You get the picture. I only just discovered last week that there's a little box appears on the right border of parts - click and drag this as far to the right as you want to instantly create a shitload of copies.
. It's so fkn obvious, how did I miss it? Just goes to show I should RTFM more often. I bet Cubase is full of tricks that'll save me heaps of dicking around, but y'know...old fart doing things the way he did last millennium.

^Ah yes, I came to that realisation a little while ago and it's a game changer.
But thanks for the link, that is helpful. I think I will need to set up some of my own key commands tbh.

Search for 'duplicate' in the Key Commands window to see what the PC equivalent is.. As mentioned, copy just puts a copy into memory, then you move the cursor where you want that bit to go and paste it that way. Duplicate is the quick and easy way to 'repeat' immediately.

Maybe you assigned CTRL+D to the Drum Editor and possibly forgot about doing so? By default CTRL + D is "duplicate", while "Open Drum Editor" has no default key command. Just checked with fresh preferences on Windows. Of course assigning CTRL + D to "Open Drum Editor" clears that command for "Duplicate" (you get a warning when assigning a shortcut that is already in use).swilow11 wrote: Mon Aug 21, 2023 1:22 am Ctrl +D opens the drum editorBut thanks for the link, that is helpful. If you're not already used to open the drum editor with that command, just assign it to duplicate, or assign a new one to duplicate if you are.
