Using Minifreak with a DAW (Studio One)

Hi all,
Recently bought a Minifreak and love it so far, but having trouble incorporating it into the actual song within Studio One.
Right now, I'm directly recording the audio from the synth to the DAW, this creates a few problems:
1 - Clicking sounds at the beginning and end of the audio clip. Fade in-out solves the problem but sometimes it takes too much time to do it in a way that sounds natural.
2 - Timing. It's not easier to quantize audio after recording than MIDI.
I've seen some people use MIDI to trigger to synth and then record MIDI and bounce it to the audio but I can't do it in Studio One, it triggers the synth but when I bounce it, it bounces an empty audio track. Tried everything but I can't make it work. If it's done with this way, will there still be clicks and latency in the audio?
How can I do this?
Also, how do you handle noting the presets used in the song? I simply write "Bass - P293" to the track name to remember the preset I used in the future, is there a better way?
---
Or, the users of Minifreak will know that it comes with Minifreak V bundled and it handles all of the above automatically when you load up the plugin. But I'm not sure if it's good practice to do it this way, because using a plugin is kind of defeating the purpose of using a hardware synth.
What do you think?

This might help you:
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Are you literally using the bounce function? That won't work, you need to record it in as an audio track.Fornicras wrote: Mon Aug 28, 2023 9:53 am I've seen some people use MIDI to trigger to synth and then record MIDI and bounce it to the audio but I can't do it in Studio One, it triggers the synth but when I bounce it, it bounces an empty audio track.

Using a plugin is not defeating using a hardware synth. I use a plugin with all but one of my hardware synths and 2 of my pedals - all the rest have plugins or library editors. It can make it easier to figure out presets, save and manage presets, or just tap into the sound of the synth (especially when there's no literal equivalent plugin, just a controlling plugin).Fornicras wrote: Mon Aug 28, 2023 9:53 am Hi all,

I got the bounce function to work finally. Turns out it wasn't working because I configured the instrument as MPE instrument. Now it works.Uncle E wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 1:20 amAre you literally using the bounce function? I think you are right. One thing is that right now Minifreak V (the software) is buggy, it feedbacks the played note indefinitely and I can't use it because of that.vitocorleone123 wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 7:00 pmUsing a plugin is not defeating using a hardware synth.
