Can I do this as a send in Reaper?

I have a part with a pair of fx (a and b).
I have another part and both are sending to another channel to share a delay fx. There are no fx on the second part
I want the delay on the first part to come back between fx a and b.
How do I do that?

Not sure I can make that example any clearer if it doesn't make sense. Thanks

I think I understand, I would just put the delay on the one track with the 2 effects and put another instance of the delay on another track lol.

It sounds impossible to route to me, so which way is right?

Be aware you are dealing with a feedback loop. So good lord turn down the volume of your monitoring system while experimenting with this routing!

1. Your Part 1 is on Track 1 with FX A + B. Create and move a new Track above Track 1. Now your Part 1 is on Track 2. Make Track 2 a child track. Your Track 1 gets a folder/parent track.

2. Move FX B to Track 1. Concept: You route Track 2 with FX A through to Track 1 with FX B. So your Part 1 is in series processed by FX A + B like before.

Part 1 can only be heard through Track 1 (folder/parent track). On Track 3 is your Part 2. On Track 4 is your Delay.

3. Send signal in parallel from Track 1 and 3 to track 4 (Delay).

4. On Track 1 (folder track) add a receive from Track 4 (Delay).

5. In the Project Settings (Advanced tab) enable 'Allow feedback in routing (can result in lower performance, louder noises)’

I'm asking because fewer instances of fx is easier on the cpu. Otherwise i'd just use multiple instances of the effects in question

If this is what you're trying to do then it's technically possible but I wouldn't recommend it. The main problem as I see it is that you would get the delayed signal from track 2 on track 1. Also, if the send is POST-FX then you'd get a feedback loop which will likely cause problems. It make's much more sense to add the delay as an insert on track 1 between the two effects.

Reaper has freely assignable routing (including feedback if you enable that option in preferences) so pretty much everything should be possible.
