Hi.
I guess you don´t hear about these things anymore...

Although I have my own Audio Studio, I decided to create my Home Studio but it is different than most people think and I only spent 1103€! I consider it simple but High-End. It is a Legacy Setup!

Most stuff in there is second hand or old stuff that I did not use anymore. When something really works for me, I use it a lot and keep it until the end. I still believe in the words “repair” and “recycle”, not “throw away”. Therefore I am using an old 2009 Mac Pro 4.1, Mac OS Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and Logic 9. Yes, it is a 32 bit system!!!
I am using the software that I bought 10-20 years ago and some of that software from a decade ago that is now free. No subscriptions here, although to authorise some of this software was a bit of a pain (but I managed to do it).
I am using old software from Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, PSP, Audio Damage, Ohmforce, Gforce, Novation, IK Multimedia and more. I also have Ableton Live 9, Recycle 2 and DSP Quattro as an audio editor.

There are 2 versions of this video: short and full. Enjoy!

I've never been able to hear the difference between a sound from a 32 bit synth,
and the same sound from an updated 64 bit version of the same synth, that didn't redo
the given preset's settings. All that old gear was once state of the art, and a quality leap over hit songs from the sixties, seventies and eighties, hits that still populate spotify playlists etc.

Congrats on the repurpose. I think this winter, I'll make a workstion from a closeted computer, a porta-one 8-track hard-disk recorder, a Kawai synth, an E-mu 0404 pci card, and with Reaper, Synth1, Podolski, Tyrell N6, and Freeamp 3, plenty of potential under that hood. Congrats on your studio 8)

Thanks mate.
I think it is a great system and very stable. "Retro" but great!
I do not need much more although I would like to have some of the plugins I have in the studio that are protected by iLok or something similar but I can guess that I can live with it.
I will post more videos as soon as I upgrade it.
Cheers from Portugal!

Right. First tracks done here. These were done while I was installing the software and are test tracks - simple, minimalist but cinematic, musical and effective. They are all different in style and concept as I was testing different things on each one. Energy is rising - the fast ones are the last ones.
I might continue and/or finish some of them.

You have the track list with timestamps here -
00:00 Start
08:18 Sci-Fi Blast
03:53 Places
08:51 Supernova
12:00 Phat Waves
14:27 Classic Tone
17:37 A Bad Day
19:28 Test 1
21:41 Like a Boss
23:55 Metallic Blue
27:33 Illusions
30:42 Heroes of Ukraine
34:54 Innovators
37:49 Grenade Drop
40:18 Test 2
42:42 Jetlag

Enjoy! It´s free!
