UVI Falcon - v4 = 2026 released - rumors, ads, praise, kindergarden, auto-sampling and off-topic inside!

Just updated my Falcon to the latest release and installed the update to add Synth Anthology 4.
First thing I tried was I went to the presets under "00 Best Of" and I'm getting strange behaviour where one minute a preset works fine and the next there's silence. Everything's installed fine so it's all iLok activated OK. The most consistently 'silent' presets so far are the Ancient Ensemble and Ancient Warehouse patches. If I leave the keyboard alone and don't play anything for a minute or two I sometimes finds the preset plays OK, but if I jump to another preset and then back the one that was fine is now 'silent'.

Bit odd, just wondering if anyone else has a similar thing?

Edit: I can even be in a preset that's making sound, double click the name of the preset I'm in and then the one that loads is 'silent'. Or can be in the 'silent' one, double click same named preset and I get sound. Seems kind of pot luck.

Anything’s possible but I would be very surprised. The disc the samples load from is a NVME M2 SSD and I can’t see how the files could be corrupt just some of the time. Fairly recently wiped my PC for a fresh Win 11 install so my gut feeling is it’s more likely some kind of bug. Going to install the free UVI Workstation later and see if that exhibits the same behaviour.

I have now also installed UVI Workstation and all the presets works and I can move between them like butter, much quicker than in Falcon, so the issue appears only to be a Falcon one.

Yes I can reproduce this behaviour in Falcon. It is infrequent, every 10 loads or so but sometimes much longer and seems random with regard to the preset. Reloading the preset usually cures the problem but sometimes I have to load a different one and then load the problematic one.
A bug then.
I’ve not noticed this in the other UVI libraries I have but then I usually use the workstation rather than Falcon

Thought so, hopefully will be fixed too. I also noticed one of the individual instrument presets didn’t load at all, even in UVI Workstation, so looks like there are a few teething troubles with the library too.

Crashes, crashes, crashes. I recently installed Falcon 2.8.6 on a brand new M2 Mac Studio (Ventura 13.5.1, 32 GB ram) within Pro Tools Studio and I get crashes every 20 minutes or so just tweaking simple oscillator parameters. I'm not running any sample banks or anything like that. Is there any obvious things I can do to improve stability? Falcon and Pro Tools are running on the main internal drive, but my Pro Tools sessions are on an external La Cie drive. But like I said, I'm not streaming any audio from them, in fact I get crashes just tweaking the PWM on a solitary sine wave. Thanks for any advice!

Confirmed on Windows, latest Falcon, lots of presets silent. A few presets crackle as well (I’m on an latest gen i9 ) Unusually buggy release

I think UVI have sorted things like this fairly quickly in the past. I am sure when I eventually emerge blinking from three weeks of playing Starfield there will be a fix in place. As said though, the UVI Workstation seems to work ok for most of the SA4 patches so I’ll just check that out.

I did also hear some poor quality crackling low bit sounding audio, but never sure these days if it’s supposed to be some lo-fi patch. The silence was a bit more obvious.
