Is it just me, or is watching the soundpaint tutorials/walk-throughs, annoyingly painful?jancivil wrote: Thu Aug 31, 2023 12:56 am "Soundpaint affords us the freedom to create and just play again."
what, are you hung up? What a load.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I think Soundpaint is promising, I downloaded some of the free packs, but at the moment very it's limited compared to what you can do with Kontakt with scripting and more advanced graphics etc. It does however have a nice resizable and clear GUI, something Kontakt still needs to fully implement (although they are getting there, very gradually)

This might be the right thread to ask a question that I can't find an answer to: What even is Soundpaint? I visited the website and read the cryptic announcements/spam that was posted on KVR in the build up to the launch, but not one single bit of copy actually goes to the trouble of telling you what it actually is. It's all just empty nonsense hype with no substance.
At some point I even tried installing it and it didn't work, so I'm none the wiser. The error message and information on the website about the error was about as useful as their marketing copy.

Voted KVR's resident drunk Robert Smith impersonator (thanks Frantz!)

Soundpaint? Nice try, but no thanks. More dependencies for at best mediocre samples? Why would anyone need or want that?
After having to deal with NI dropping support for old products i also wouldn't want to go into the next disaster waiting to happen regarding long term reliability. No need for more headaches.
