1.0.2
------
- Fix: potential silent presets

1.0.1
------
- Fix: missing sample error
- Fix: resource not found error in UVIWS
- Add: shade overlay on disabled FX in Edit page
A patch? Or do you have to re-download then entire 20 gigs again?

Post

Seems to.

Yup, it is the biggest weakness of UVI by far....the elephant in the room!
You would think it would be just as aggravating for UVI to rebuild the 20 GB UFS file and then redeploy it to the file server.

I'm thinking it must be too challenging to re-engineer the UFS file bundle to be modular.
Insult to injury... the UFS file bundle initially downloads as a .RAR file which can then add several more minutes just to unpack the .UFS file from inside it. :dog:

BTW: I am downloading an update to the String Machines 2 soundset as I type this, and it is taking forever to download (15.1GB); the link for the torrent file does not work. :x. I still have not yet attempted to download the SA 4 soundset (sadly, no torrent link yet for that one).

UPDATE: Lessons learned. Using the UNRAR.exe is the fastest way to unpack the UFS file out of a RAR. A download accelerator such as FreeDownloadManager can reduce the download time of a 15GB+ file to 90 minutes or less.

UVI needs to do something about the "Trogan horse" and "compromised URL" error issue.
This was first reported in 2020 and I just got this warning multiple times while using "Portal".
There is feedback from UVI below and a potential solution. (although I also get this warning when on their web site.)

Read this:

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/2 ... e-blocked/

Statement from UVI and how to avoid a potentially serious problem....

"After verification with our team, I can confirm that this report is caused by the torrent protocol used by default in UVI Portal.

Basically another Key Suite Bundle Edition owner must have been downloading an infected file from another torrent client while seeding Key Suite Bundle Edition from UVI Portal on his computer, at the same time you were downloading the bundle.

The report only applies to a specific IP address used by UVI Portal's torrent protocol and there is no need to worry since there is a torrent integrity check for our files once the download is complete, so the installation files can not be infected by a trojan or any other malware in any way.

Hope this clarifies.

FYI if you prefer to avoid using UVI Portal's default torrent protocol, you can enable the option Force Direct Download in the application's preferences.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of those issues with UVI Portal; I also wasn't aware that by default UVI Portal actually uses the torrent protocol under the hood to do the downloading.

I am not sure why the update process was so gosh-darn slow when using the UVI Portal app today, but I found that this alternate method of a direct download via Free Download Manager followed by UNRARing the downloaded .RAR file from a command shell window was the most expeditious way to get my UFS soundware file downloaded and installed.

I’m loving this update! Compared to v3, it’s leaps and bounds ahead. Being able to choose oscillators, machine learning of oscillators, modulation improvements, choices of filters, more effects (waveshaping & convolution reverb are so key for me), key ranges of the oscillators and more are all welcomed.

My only critiques arethey could’ve left the wavetable oscillator from the previous version & saving of step modulator presets. However, these are not detractors from the sum of the parts. They’ve already fixed some of the issues with the presets (I haven’t gone through all of them).

Props to UVI for continuing to improve this massive project. This version brings out the best of what was already there.

Really enjoying this upgrade from version 2. €49 is a no-brainer.

Does the iLok thing mean you can have it activated on 3 computers at the same time? Or can you only activate it 3 times total?

3 at the same time as long as they have Ilok as well (computer based version, not dongle)

I have it activated on three different computers and can run them all at the same time.

Does installing Anthology 4 replace Anthology 3 and its samples? I'm short on space.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

No. They actually may be run concurrently beside one another.

Synth Anthology 4 is a huge jump from its predecessor(s) as far as I'm concerned. First, this GUI is much more streamlined and usable, whereas SA2 and SA3 had this 80s Miami Vice look (courtesy of Arctic Fox) with a fluorescent green tinge. Second, approximately 70 synths have been added, arriving at 200 retro and modern classics. Third, layering two sounds provides a much deeper sonic feel, somewhat similar to what they already did in their Quadra series. Fourth and foremost, the proximity explorer allows for easy sonic exploration within the realm of what one's looking for. All in all, Synth Anthology finally evolved from a generic Vintage Vault sibling to an inspiration masterpiece. Now they're each master of their own domain, Vintage Vault for explicit vintage synths, Synth Anthology for sonic exploration.
