Haha well played. Thanks for the insight. Well, I have only one question and only one single wish for Drumazon 2. Is the BD model improved or the very same one from v1? Are there more models to switch to, or choose from to retain sound compatibility with the v1?

Why asking? Believe it or not, BD was a single thing I never clicked with the Drumazon. Everything else was pretty amazing but BD (for me) was the thing to discuss. I understand that BD models vary in hardware from series to series and original BD is a thing to engineer and sculpt to make it sound like a record.

But IMHO the current BD model was never close enough to me. It may be close to the D16 unit they modeled but it is a lousy model. Example: Roland Cloud 909 has (IMO) a better BD model. So does TR-8S which has several BD models to choose from.

Now from the D16 video and from your screenshot, I understand that there are many more sound-shaping tools in Drumazon 2 - I am not asking about that, I am asking if the BD is different.

If you can share insight?

I don't know whether or how the individual models were revised in detail. But... from my impression, V2 is a little bit more "kicking" or better said punchy sounding (with all processing off).

As you mentioned, so many different hardware references have little nuances, and different characters in the detail - so hmm, this will always be there on hardware emulations I think, e.g. Moog Model D or TB-303 emulation, many users will have a different impression, simply because their own Model-D/TB-303 sounded a bit different - just like hardware sometimes is...

The best would be, once Drumazon 2 is out, just try the demo, maybe now it sounds more appealing to you, and/or the new features & improvements by themself, will be a reason to upgrade. Who knows... with the additional processing/fx`s, you can now surely trimm the sound way more to your personal needs and wishes. Maybe, the difference from your personal impressions vs Drumazon came a bit by the little different in higher frequencies, like shown on the current Drumazon overview page?

Thank you for your response. I'll check it out. I understand completely the differences between the hardware models (series). And I don't doubt their (D16) capability of making immaculate true-to-the-source plugins. This is out of the question. I literally own all of their plugins.

What I meant is that their BD always lacked a punch for me. If you force me to describe I would say something is off with the Tune depth and Tune decay - with other plugins it is different which makes the BD have more of that well-known "gut" push (lack of better description). This characteristic probably comes from the "golden sample" hardware they modeled on.

I was able to pass over this by using specific compression and transient shapers on D16 BD but on Wavealchemy Kontakt 909 emu, Roland cloud, Behringer 909 or even the TR-8s (yes I am a 909 junkie) I never had to do this.

On the other side D16 Toms, Clap variation, and all of the tiny little details are really amazing so I am sure Drumazon 2 will be a success I just wanted to know about the BD model.

Someone here mentioned Drumazon 2 could possibly go out this month around the 9th, signaling "909" day, is that possible?

That's a fair point. New thread is here:

I'm demoing LUSH 2 now. Haven't tried it before. Definitely some cool sounds but it's a strange design with the popup windows. It's like building a large home in the footprint of a small bungalow. Press a button and the kitchen pops out of the wall. Press another button and the beds drop from down from the ceiling. :)

I think they should have a UI option to remove the texture from the plastic. It's just distracting.

Still the sound engine and some of the effects are quite good.... Still on the fence with this one.

Do I need this sound wise or feature wise if I already have Dune 3?

At this point, I think it's just a matter of workflow because Dune 3 might be more versatile in a way it covers more sonic territories. I own both and I think Lush 2 excels at analogue sounds a bit better. Not because Dune 3 can not do it, it can but because of a different workflow.

I suggest you try Lush 2 and see for yourself. I love making basslines and leads with it.
