atm i haven't had any insights into ways to make controlling loads of parameters any easier than it would be with a sequencer. it's like 'you want to reach in and move the parts around' but.. what? how?? :pmn wrote:Crazy. Would it be
to have a bit of a mixer and be able to select the different parts? Perhaps even have MIDI outs to trigger other synths? The mind boggles. Or maybe it doesn't work that way or that defeats the purpose... Did you just make KVR obsolete?

Nice one, xoxos and thanks.
i've considered making a MIDI version for freeware game makers, the only problem is that ttbom, there's no way to record the midi out from synthedit w/o using a loopback app to route the midi into a recorder, and there are so many musicians that are afraid of using loopback that i doubt i'd have much success with game devs.
for the future, i need to slap my voice synth in this and make it sing rndom crap automatically.. that should take me a few hours if i can drag my ass around to doing it. breath cube, so no one steal my name.
stuff that's more 'interesting' than 'cheesy' eg. microtonal scales and dynamic sequencing.. weird, ungodly stuf.. and i've been asked to do a hiphop version which might actually have some utility.
if you like it, tell rich kids about it to spend their $10 on me instead of on the streets or whoever so i can spend the monstrous amount of time it takes to do this crap :p

would like to do stuff with modeled plucked strings, eg. with a modelled guitar and synth vocals that does rockabilly, or physical models and unusual time sigs and scales for 'cultural emulations.' kicked around an idea with someone else to do an exotica/lounge style.. atm i'm just puffed out and happy to plop this strange but ugly "every song you never wanted to hear" baby in your lap..

I hadn't even looked to see if anything was exposed or controllable, lol, I was just using different wav samples and letting it do its' thing. I just now saw there are 29 parms in the preset generator in eXT so I guess you can tweak/control some stuff. I was thinking along the lines of "let it play its' random default stuff, but let me pick ony the drum part" or "let it just pass its' MIDI - or if it doesn't work that way put an envelope/peak type audio trigger and let me generate MIDI to trigger something else". Depends on what's happening inside I guess. If you could isolate each audio, you could do the triggering externally.xoxos wrote: atm i haven't had any insights into ways to make controlling loads of parameters any easier than it would be with a sequencer. it's like 'you want to reach in and move the parts around' but.. what? how?? :p
Anyway, it's quite bizarre and impressive in its' own right, I'm just thinking out loud.
Sorry, I don't know any rich kids, so I just PP'd you $10 myself. Happy Holidays.xoxos wrote: if you like it, tell rich kids about it to spend their $10 on me instead of on the streets or whoever so i can spend the monstrous amount of time it takes to do this crap :p

I would like to see you do an automated surreal magic eight ball VSTi. One would pose the question in one's own mind, then press the big red button. All the keys to life would be written out to a wave file using that synthesized voice.
After 30 tries, it then begins to ask you questions about existence, then after 99 tries it starts to try to sell you odd things. That would be ultimate, wouldn't it? Kind of like a Survival Research Labs of crystal balls or something.
The demo tunes are hilarious, btw.

i think shane's onto something.. oc i was thinking it would be the enactment of randomisation all on it's own, but the fact of a verbal articulation would certainly create avenues. but i'm still on "i'm shot" so couple days.
mike.. no clue what those 29 params are.. odd variable ghosts or something. should only be stuf for the gui controls.. i def. didn't build any midi controllability in.

This is an old project that I designed and had coded for me years ago. It's quasi-broken at the moment, however, and I could only get the shockwave to work in IE for some reason.
