I have a PreSonus Studio 26c connected to a Windows 11 PC via usb and output to two Tannoy Reveal powered monitors. With the monitors connected and on, as soon as I plug in the usb to the Presonus I get a lot of noise in the monitors. Neither windows volume nor main volume on the presonus affects the noise level. There isn't any noise in the headphone output. When I connect a synth to my monitors using the same cables, I don't get any noise. These are unbalanced mono 1/4 cables. The PC, monitors and synth are all powered through the same outlet.
Any ideas on why this is happening? I guess feedback loop through the usb but I don't see any way to fix that...

I'm reading a lot of the same problems with the Tannoy on different sites. :
/there is an EXTREMELY ANNOYING ELECTRICAL NOISE that will not subside. Does anyone else have this problem with them?
And/or do YOU know if there is a way to eliminate this flaw? I believe this noise is due to the lack of a third prong in the power input/cable./
and this:/ The hiss you are hearing is entirely self-noise from the speakers. I have confirmed this with Tannoy. It is not considered a problem at the moment by their technicians./

Interface has balanced main outs, I would use balanced cables - XLR one end and TRS other end.
- it would at least make hot signal differential
But cannot say for certain if it fixes ground loop unless also ground lift on interface.
Another thing to try might be a usb hub with external power, and not rely on having power from pc.
- but usb c contact then so fixes 0.9A
