I think he did mention it before, but not the end of support through KVR.

I have a lot respect for him and he has always been very helpful to me over the years. :tu:

I wish him all the best.

"Es gibt kein richtiges Leben im falschen." (Adorno)

This time there's also the addition of no more major development for most existing products.

I'm very sorry to read that.

I understand what you say, unfortunatly music communities became somehow too much harsh, and too many trolls are around there, without even considering every word they toss, can hurt people for real.

Health is the most important things, so take care man, i wish you all the best!

I wish you everything best. Especially to your family. You are obviously a very talented person and you will be able to find your way in a different path. Live long and prosper (I really mean it).

Kids are really important. Especially with what they are facing today.

Gute Besserung !

Leave yourself a little bit of wiggle room to simply retire from this on down the road, if need be, especially as OS’s change and develop. If that point comes (like it did for Peter of Linplug and many others), just say “Goodbye - and good luck!”

You’re one of my favorite artists of synth development, and I’ve been inspired immensely by your pieces of art.

I think Tone2 synths are extremely good. Gladiator in particular always wowed me and I’ve long appreciate how many updates you have released to keep improving the plugins. I hope things get better for you in your new phase.

My best to you Markus to focus on your health and family, but also thanks for all your great synths. I have them all and enjoy all of them. You did great work for sure and have a great catalogue of instruments people can use for a long time. :tu:

Having only recently discovered Tone2 (so many synths, so little time!) and the remarkable Saurus, this news comes as a bit of a surprise. But you've accomplished much and a break from the stress (and some of the ill-mannered trolls here on KVR) will be well-deserved. Here's wishing you the bluest skies, Martin.

Well, there's that and there's the fact that not all people are meant to be customer facing. Some can be great, and it helps their company a lot, Urs Heckman comes to mind, but I recently saw Marcus snap at someone who was really just suggesting a very reasonable feature. One that's implemented on a lot of Tone2's competition, and I think most would agree is a very useful feature.

Criticism and suggestions are awesome. It means that people are interested, which is the hardest thing in the world to get going. If I suggest a new feature or somewhat different implementation of a feature to a developer, it means that I think the instrument or effect is good. If I think something sucks, I don't say anything. I recently tried a guitar amp simulator from a company that I never heard of and I found it was pretty mediocre. I didn't look for a thread about it, or contact the developer in any way. I deinstalled the demo and moved on.

Of course, one also has to assess the validity of a suggestion. Asking for Tone2 to put a full sample playback system into Gladiator is way beyond the scope of the instrument, and while it might be cool, it starts to bring out conflicts between what the instrument was intended to be and what it wasn't. Sometimes adding a niche feature like MPE support may not bring about a lot more direct sales, but would get your product talked about on every site and thread where MPE is being talked about. That content comes up in web searches, and even if the potential customer doesn't have an MPE controller, it will convey the idea that this developer is up on the latest technology.

Or whatever. I like Tone2 synths, but to be honest, I don't use them much because they have fallen behind in features like MPE or more robust mod matrix implementation. While I would like a better sounding version of Gladiator, I won't buy it because I already have a lot of good plugins that have the types of things I value that Marcus does not. I wish him well, but I think he could be a lot happier if he dropped the victim stance when someone makes a request. It's not like he will go to his next job where no one will comment on his work.
