From the minds of Albany Med patients, scientists retrieve Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in the Wall (Part 1)'

It may be muffled and distorted, but scientists recreated Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 1)” using the brain signals of 29 patients at Albany Medical Center, a feat scientists say offers new insight into human brain activity.

The study, published Aug. 15, used electrodes placed directly on the surface of the brain to monitor signals. The electrodes were there to monitor patients suffering from disorders like epilepsy who then agreed to participate in the study, explained researcher Peter Brunner, a professor of neurosurgery at Washington University in St. Louis and Albany Medical College. It took close to a decade for scientists at institutions including Albany Medical College, University of Florida and University of California, Berkeley to reconstruct the song.

It took them close to a decade to reconstruct another brick in the wall???
Why didn't they just buy the CD?
Ask not what your DAW can do for you, but what you can do with your DAW

Didn’t they need an education to do that?

I was hoping they could extract some of Dark Side Of The Moon so we could compare it to Rogers new version, to see which is better.

Fascinating.

Think of all the stoner rock we could retrieve from revived DNA :hyper:
