A few days ago I bought Nectar 3 Plus here and got emails and a serial from NI after the license transfer, but had to register it in my izotope account on the izotope website.

Yesterday I bought Nectar 4 Advanced and also got emails from Native Instruments, but had to download it from my izotope account, too.

So you still have to use an izotope account on the izotope website.

What bothered me both in Nectar 3 and Ozone 10 was how it has fake resize.
You are only resizing the analyzer panel when you resize the plugins, all the buttons and modules are still the same size. It is not usable on my 4k display (on 125% windows scaling).

Nectar 4 and Ozone 11 are behaving same.

The visuals also lag when resized, I don't know how people use their plugins.

I recently upgraded from Komplete 13 to 14 at 50% off and got Ozone 10 as well as a bunch of other stuff for €99.50. Since Ozone 11 will likely be included in Komplete 15 I'll just wait instead of paying for the update twice. It's not like Ozone 10 suddenly became completely unusable. Worth keeping in mind in case you regularly update Komplete.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Now we’ll see how profound will be the updates to RX 11. The last few major versions had minimal changes that could’ve been more appropriate for minor revisions.

Agree on the lack of 4K/HiDpi support - really amazed that they still try to 'fake it' - looks really bad (and tiny) on some systems at 4K. It was the final reason that I stopped using iZotope and moved onto other products.

They're ridiculous. RX Advanced 9 to RX Advanced 10 was around $500. They are out of their minds.

No 4k support and they want hundreds of dollars, lol :clown:

Yes, hopeless.

One of the consequences of the NI merger is that you get lots of duplicated products in different bundles, without them taking into account everything you own necessarily.

Still, I'm not too bothered - if people don't upgrade they'll be doing deals again soon enough. And frankly I'm bored of endless similar versions of the same thing, I'm pretty happy with what I have. Motivation to buy is low on several fronts.

If I'm reading correctly the only difference between Nectar 4 Standard and Nectar 4 Advanced is that Advanced lets you use the modules as individual plugins, is that right? Does Standard with all but one module deleted use up a huge amount of cpu relative to the standalone plugin for that module?

Post

Nectar 4 Standard also doesn't have auto-level or breath control. What it says about Unmask seems inconsistent: in several places it says Standard has Vocal Unmask, but in one place it says it doesn't. See the version comparison chart near the bottom of this page:

https://www.izotope.com/en/products/nec ... tures.html

Under "Features" it says Standard doesn't have Vocal Unmask, but lower down under "Vocal Unmask" it says Standard does have all the Vocal Unmask stuff. And the description of Standard says it includes Vocal Unmask.

I asked iZotope about all of their plugins (excluding old ones) lagging in my system (Ozone, Neutron, Nectar) and they answered with this:
Hi,

Sorry for the trouble with GUIs lagging.

Please make sure that you're on a screen that is between 1400x900 and 2160x1440.
We don't support 4k or higher resolutions at this time.

Also, make sure scaling is set to 100%. Anything higher is not supported.

Make sure any hi-dpi modes in the DAW you're using is also turned off, as we don't support those either.

Ensure your graphics card or graphics chip drivers are current from the manufacturer.
What a joke.

They charge $350 for a plugin and they don't even support 4k or scaling or hi-dpi mode. Lol.

That's very odd because I have both a 14 inch laptop with 3024x1964 screen and bad eyes (I am not getting younger). Yet izotope plugins renders perfectly and with the right size. Fonts are not too small and are well readable.

Holy shit, tried Nectar4 and it's so bad.
GUI is laggy af (M1 Pro/32gb!) when you do anything.
The "AI backer" module that sounds like a choir in the promo video? Pretty much just a glorified formant shifter. And a poor one to boot, all my other formant shifters track better and work better.

too bad.
