I have noticed that I would need to re-activate smart disable every once in a while. It seems to de-activate itself after a time. The only way to know if it's on at all is to look at the CPU meter. I would prefer a more dedicated way to know what state it's in.kingozrecords wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 6:25 pmDoesn't work sadly; and I've been using the image-line's products for twenty years.Carbonboy wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 4:44 amBecause there will much less CPU load playing a sample vs generating one live.
If you use smart disable, the plugins will also stop using even more CPU.

I have never had any issues running stems or bounced parts in FL.osiris wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 8:33 pm It's true. I've bounced and loaded a bunch of tracks and it makes FL huff and puff.

Has anyone else noticed that midi input quantize is a bit wonky in recent releases?
Frequently notes are a beat too early. I thought at first that my timing must just suck these days but I've been working in other DAWs lately and I don't have the same issue. Bitwig nails it, in FL I have to go back and manually move notes back.
I also find that FL can struggle to accurately capture my fast leads even at 192 PPQN and input quantize off. Setting FL to 960 PPQ makes the local power plant melt down. Again BW has no issue.
I haven't installed this latest update so we'll see how it goes. I've been using FL Studio since version 3 so hate to change but there are issues that I simply don't experience in other DAWs. Even with this update I'm sure they haven't fixed the issue with MW, PB, and AT data being separated from note on/off and velocity data which is the main reason I've been working with other DAWs.
Oh well, updates are free so I guess that's a good thing.....

Yes it's driving me nuts. My notes go almost to the line but stops short. I've tried every Quantize size on the piano roll so now I have to draw the note over, then manually slice the chunk that overhangs. And no the 99 track thing is a problem because I have watched my computer take as long as 2 ,minutes to save a big file and the little dashboard tells me everything: Saving Tracks 1-99. (even if there's nothing sent to those tracks)

Please no! Things have been so much better at Image-Line (and for FL Studio) since Gol left.
Only if you stop making dumb posts.
But seriously if the OP still feels that FL 21 is a "disappointment in the making" then he/she shouldn't change the title just because someone got triggered.

I don't see anything in the change log that would indicate this issue has been addressed but it seems a little better today with this new version. It could just be my imagination.osiris wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 4:28 pm Yes it's driving me nuts. My notes go almost to the line but stops short. When note start times are off they're always early, never late. I was willing to blame my own timing but since it doesn't happen in other DAWs I don't know what to think. It seems to have become an issue in recent versions.

I just don't get the negativity in the thread title. I mean, what's next, we're gonna name every thread about a new version of a DAW that way? "Cubase 13 - the next disaster". "Studio One 7 - a catastropy is coming". "Ableton Live 12 - the end is near, brothers".Teksonik wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 6:24 pmOnly if you stop making dumb posts.![]()

Maybe a bit less drama next time would be nice. If that's even possible these days.

If someone thinks those things are true then yea why not? If you disagree and actually use the software in question then push back with a cogent argument instead of calling something "dumb".chk071 wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 7:09 pm I mean, what's next, we're gonna name every thread about a new version of a DAW that way? You do realize the irony right? You used the word "dumb" first so who started the drama?chk071 wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 7:09 pmMaybe a bit less drama next time would be nice. If that's even possible these days.

You are not being positive at all. You just think you have the right to complain and call something dumb but the OP doesn't have the right to complain and call something "a disappointment in the making".

Why when reopening a project are all the plugins e.g. parametric eq, reset in terms of size?
I've adjusted their displays but when opened after reopening a project they are default size again.
Annoying

I beg to differ.
Since he left, the code monkeys just kept stapling new stuff on top of FL just in order to claim said functionality is now available....
FL now feels like the FrankenDAW it never was when gol was still in charge.
He had the talent to implement stuff in a way that felt natural to FL. The new people don't. They just staple new stuff on top.

I think UVI will have a positive influence. I hope they don't dumb it down to the weird, MCDonalds Cash Register with pictures for keys sort of things I see a lot of people doing. I also hope they don't make it needlessly complicated in the way Magix did to Soundforge. The instrument rack could use a refresh, the Mixer tracks could use a decent EQ. I had a weird vision of a DAW that looked like Reason and Reaper had a baby.

One thing I’ve been finding annoying with FLStudio on the Mac side is that nearly everything I do in the software produces audio dropouts when playing back. If I open a window while FLStudio is playing it hitches. Not sure if that is normal for FL but Logic, Ableton, Studio One, Bitiwg, Reason, Maschine, etc do not have that behavior. Thats on a fully spaced out M1 Max machine. It makes the app feel unstable and janky.
