Comparing apples with oranges here.
After getting Electro Acoustic from Sonic Couture (Kontakt) I kind of lost all interest in 909 plugins. Love the sound of Electro Acoustic (especially the 909 drums) but I am not a big fan of working in Kontakt. Anyone who used both this and the Sonic Couture drums?
I guess what I am asking is, how is the UI and the workflow of the new Drumazon?

I have an electroacoustic and new Drumazon 2. Workflow is much better in Drumazon 2 plus I never clicked with ElectroAcoustic 909 (their 909 clap is terrible). Electroacoustic is used here but not for 909. Anyway, workflow is better in Drumazon but this is subjective so grab yourself a Trial and try to compare.DrGonzo wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:05 am Comparing apples with oranges here.

Damn liked one pattern from one of demo videos.
Well for such upgrade price it worth just for got this pattern' variations, definitely will do.
(Never used Drumazone before, despite having v1. But with this sequencer it's looks promising)

I don't have Electro Acoustic but I had WA Revolution and I have Addictive Drums Reel Machines. Revolution was cool but pretty ram heavy. I kinda prefer drum machine plugins outside of kontakt. Better resizing etc. Reel machines is nice and can mix and match drums within it as well and with other AD sounds. Drum sounds are editable but not in the way the originals were exactly.DrGonzo wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:05 am Comparing apples with oranges here.

But the modeled sounds in drumazon are great as they give the full range of drum sounds without samples plus extra flexibility not on the originals. Plus you don't need round Robin sampling since it's synthesized. So yeah, still nice to have one made based on the original parameters and extended. Now that itn sounds so accurate.

Having an issue here , concerning the serial nature of the effects .
The BD is assigned to slot 1 (distortion ), the SD to slot 5 ( reverb ) .
Snare obviously plays reverb , but BAss Drum plays distortion into reverb (becasue of the serial routing )
So this means that anything that is assigned to the left most slots always flows to the slots at the right of it .
Is there a way around this , iow just BD+distort without the effects after it ?
This also means you can't have a 'single' separate effect for a sound , unless it's routed to the last slot .
Can't believe it supposed to work this way

Yeah it's pretty weird. But I prefer just routing them to separate channels in the daw.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:10 pm Having an issue here , concerning the serial nature of the effects .

After trying - sounds really good, buuut cant's say that this is light for cpu hovewer (idle 8-10%, at works about 18-21%). Well, not critical maybe, if considering how eated complex groove plugs, even old (like Tremor, even at today hardware). But frankly there was an hope for just some light improvements of old engine, which I believe would eat a little. (Or i'm mistake). Again, i'm not tried v1, and if the sound i.e. modeling has been significantly redesigned and sounds different than in v1, then this is probably reasonable. But resp damn sad that not able to do workhorse from this thing (like MTonic with zero cpu usage, ok i know it's not the same hehe).

Yep , that seems to be the only solution .Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:32 pm

But I can't believe why this go through the hassle of including so many effects and such a shortcoming .

Turn down the all the effects and eq+comp per sound , it will significantly lower cpu usage .c_voltage wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:35 pm After trying - sounds really good, buuut cant's say that this is light for cpu hovewer (idle 8-10%, at works about 18-21%). It seems the Quality settings also only affects the effects .
I get the same cpu readout in draft versus ultra ( both without effects ) .

Yeah, love the sound of this and will probably buy it but the first thing that hit me was how convoluted the effects section is.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:10 pm Having an issue here , concerning the serial nature of the effects .

My biggest problem with Electroacoustic is that it's based in Kontakt. I always felt the interfaces of Kontakt is menufest and flipping pages constantly. And you switch a preset and all the global settings you've set up for the preset (inside the instrument) get's zeroed. But that's neither here or there. I just saw Mike Janney (Audio Realism) talking positively about DZ2 so just that alone makes me confident this is a quality product. Will take the demo for a spin. Thanks.kmonkey wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 4:58 amI have an electroacoustic and new Drumazon 2. i'm just gonna be that guy who chimes in every few pages to say 808s are heaps betterer and Nepheton 2 should have been first.
but cereal, i hope Nepheton 2 isn't too much of a wait.
If you beta testers know anything you tell me NOW ok!

Don't worry, 808 Day is only 332 days away.
