Agreed. :tu:
Hardly, there's not even an exhaust unit above my bachelor apartment's stove lmao. Dual purpose. Thumbs up to sweaty guests.

But where to find a futon couch that has a quiet motor to turn it into a bed with Alexa, that's what I want to know. Or Google home; depends on the quality of the vocal authentication heuristics. Don't want my gf's buying nothing.

I had to get one for my bedroom this year. My house doesn’t have any sash type windows. They are all side slide or crank types. The bedroom has 6’ tall crank windows only. Impossible to install a standard window unit. So the portable was the answer. I had to build a special mounting adapter for the hoses.

They are quite noisy. Much noisier than window units. This one has two hoses. The exhaust hose does get quite hot. Even a short 1.5m length. The unit didn’t need to be drained all summer. It is designed to shut down if the drip pan gets too full.
The latest batch of these things have become quite efficient.

The unit I have is a 7000 BTU unit that handles my 500sq ft bedroom quite nicely. The unit has fan, cool, dehumidifier and heater modes…and a neat remote. Once it reaches the target temp you set, it will shut off. When the temp drops 2 degrees, it fires up again. Pretty efficient, actually. Takes about 40 minutes to drop the room from 85 degrees to 68.

I haven't had to use one in years but i do remember wrapping the heat exhaust tube up with old comforters and a tarp. I kept an eye on it in case the heat could ignite the material but that wasn't going to happen. It made a huge difference.

Yeah, agreed; have 650w; honestly I've avoided the issued the issue; but the 650w Seasonic focus platinum is really hot and a little loud; but not in the way of whining fans. Obviously the capacitors and fans are really good quality. I thought platinum.. expecting more? Is this platinum quality I wondered?

Oh well, thought that counts sometimes. I hope their newer models please customers; because I was a little disappointed. But, the power on the other hand is very stable, and my system is very dependable. I really don't like speaking bad of companies; they have hungry families to feed, but there it is.

Sometimes you take all the advice in the world and you end up with a sweaty big rig that's a lovely stalwart tugboat. But I wasn't really in the market for a tugboat; or I'd have stuck with an intel core 2 quad extreme. they're the most dependable, and clunky all the same. lol; damn things. they beat most of the new processors at video processing lmao. but they're like an ornery unbroken warhorse that doesn't need breaking.
