Hahaha I had exactly the same saying as you about this.
Now imagine, all of the instruments having their own strips like that. King.
But this way it's unusable for me. So I route and process in DAW. Eventually, if I think about one instrument routed to BUS 1 and process in it, and then a second instrument routed to BUS 2 and that's it.
I don't want to think about it any other way because it is cumbersome. For example, you route BD to enter BUS 1 slot 1 and apply VCA dynamic to slot 1. Now you route say a Clap to enter BUS 1 slot 5 and add a touch of reverb to it. Clap won't be processed with the same effect BD is routed to because clap is processed by slot 5.
However because effects are patched in series, now my BassDrum is also added to reverb. Not gonna work like that.
It would been amazing if all of the instruments had their own individual BUS with a series of effects but that's no problem for me since I am all about the authenticity of a sound, I can process it in my DAW further.
But I had the same saying as you: can't belive it's designed like that.

Looks like they're selling the full plugin at the upgrade price. Likely an error.

Back to Nephaton for a moment, Roland just added a Chromatic Bass Drum mode to the TR-8S's 808 model so you can create pitched basslines from the kick. That would be a killer feature to add to Nephaton 2. A pitched sub-sequencer for the kick to turn it into a bassline machine.

Punchbox has a chromatic 808 as far as I remember.

I could see one easy change that would make it a bit more flexible. What if each effect slot had a choice of outputs - either continue on the bus chain, or route to master. Then at least effects could be used once without the subsequent effects. It could also be routed to the bus output without processing through the rest of the effects.kmonkey wrote: Tue Sep 12, 2023 5:10 amHahaha I had exactly the same saying as you about this.

I still miss a lower attack setting for the kick. The parameters are not 1:1 exact to a 909 so why not to give it a bit more (lower) range for attack as in Drumazon 1 again? You don't lose anything by this. There is enough music that is softer but is using 909 kicks. The best FX is the one I don't need.kmonkey wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 12:24 pmNo, the attack is not too strong. I have RD9 and TR-8S and most definitely it is as same as their models. Yesterday I compared Drumazon 2 BD with TR-8S (their ACB model named 909 Bass 1) and with correct settings, they are almost indistinguishable.midi_transmission wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:20 am The attack transient of the kick with the lowest attack setting is too strong. You can't really create soft kicks. With a high cut and saturation just for the kick you can round the attack transient a bit, but I miss the attack range of Drumazon1 where the "click" could be almost removed.
You can create soft kicks with Dynamics FX (VCA mode is essentially an awesome transient shaper). You can also tame attack with a compressor and you can make it baloney soft with Tune, pitch, and tune depth.
The attack is spot on!

After listening to the preset demo videos, it still doesn't sound quite as good as samples IMO. And the synthesis tweaking options seem pretty limited (as with the hardware).barower wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2023 12:43 am Best drum machine I've ever heard. Even if it seems to be inclined mostly towards one particular style (hopefully not), I'm insta-buying it anyways!![]()
The randomizer is supposed to be "intelligent", wonder how good it is....

The hihats need to be pitched at 55% to match the Roland TR-909 plugin. They sound great at the default 50% setting, though.

Samples are most of the time colored and preprocessed with how the seller decides they should sound. And usually they ar more polished sounding. Here you have raw material and you work on your own.Ou_Tis wrote: Tue Sep 12, 2023 10:22 pm After listening to the preset demo videos, it still doesn't sound quite as good as samples IMO. The synthesis is exactly as in the original. For the likes of a randomizer, you need to try it. You really need to try this on your own. I suggest you try this product it is really good for at least trying it on your own.
An observation: videos are not doing a favor for Drumazon 2. You really need to try it on your own. There are plenty of kit presets and rhythm presets. Try to load different kits and then move on to the bottom and try how it sounds with different rhythms. You will be surprised at how far this thing can go and how good it can sound.

The videos represent the presets well. If you don't tweak, everything sounds like a techno banger. But yes, as kmonkey said, there's way more that it can do beyond the presets. Definitely worth demoing.
