About the recall, I don't think the Model D can't save presets, but Pro-800 has 400 memories available.rod_zero wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 5:07 pmThen you need an audio interface with 4 ins, and cables, and you lose total recall.vertibration wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 4:34 pm for the amount of money people spend on synth plugins, plus sampled synths like this they could just buy a couple of Behringers and call it a day. The Model D and Pro 800 is all you really need.

All true, but it's just a my impression or it seems samples sound quite bit compressed, narrowed and darkest compared with the same patches sounding in SA 3 ?Fleer wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 7:00 pm Synth Anthology 4 is a huge jump from its predecessor(s) as far as I'm concerned. First, this GUI is much more streamlined and usable, whereas SA2 and SA3 had this 80s Miami Vice look (courtesy of Arctic Fox) with a fluorescent green tinge. Second, approximately 70 synths have been added, arriving at 200 retro and modern classics. Third, layering two sounds provides a much deeper sonic feel, somewhat similar to what they already did in their Quadra series. Fourth and foremost, the proximity explorer allows for easy sonic exploration within the realm of what one's looking for. All in all, Synth Anthology finally evolved from a generic Vintage Vault sibling to an inspiration masterpiece. Now they're each master of their own domain, Vintage Vault for explicit vintage synths, Synth Anthology for sonic exploration.

It's mentioned at about 1:43 but not many exact details are given:dbender wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 7:56 pm Has anyone figured out what the colors of the dots in the proximity explorer mean? It's not in the manual.

Interesting. I have the exact opposite experience. But there’s a volume difference because of the new layers approach, so to compare SA4 and SA3, you should lower the volume of the latter.modularg2 wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:17 pmAll true, but it's just a my impression or it seems samples sound quite bit compressed, narrowed and darkest compared with the same patches sounding in SA 3 ?Fleer wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 7:00 pm Synth Anthology 4 is a huge jump from its predecessor(s) as far as I'm concerned. Or just get Repro 5, its more powerful then Pro 800 and Model D is available as UAD plugin.Examigan wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:06 pmAbout the recall, I don't think the Model D can't save presets, but Pro-800 has 400 memories available.rod_zero wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 5:07 pmThen you need an audio interface with 4 ins, and cables, and you lose total recall.vertibration wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 4:34 pm for the amount of money people spend on synth plugins, plus sampled synths like this they could just buy a couple of Behringers and call it a day. Other then that products like Synth Anthology are catered for preset users.

From UVI:Dirtgrain wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 6:56 pm Does installing Anthology 4 replace Anthology 3 and its samples? I'm short on space.
Does Synth Anthology 4 include all the content from version 2 and 3?
Yes, Synth Anthology 4 includes all the content of the MAIN oscillator from versions 2 and 3, except the "0-Animated SA3 Presets" category. Note that SUB oscillators from version 3 are not covered. All Synth Anthology 3 presets can be found under the "18 Machines" category.

FWIW, there is a tooltip (tooltip are displayed in the footer of the player app) when hovering the dot that says the category and preset name
