Modify a ps120se to make it work harder

Initially, I thought there would be some bending to do of the phantom spirit 120 se cooler. But, on aliexpress; I came across a 12mm fan. Rosewill makes these too, but they're way too loud to use for anything.

Anyways, I came up with a mod the other day for adding two fans in between the two radiators. And here's that image:

However, you'd need some clips to attach the fans, they're here.

As long as you have two conflicting air currents inside the steel; you create refrigeration. I think this technique with the phantom spirit would make it the most powerful cpu cooler on the market; perhaps more even than liquid coolers. I will buy the parts; but I'm optimistic and will make a video with the results.

BTW, for AMD the best air cooler is Noctua NH-D15 when using with the offset mount bars.


No matter what we do, a custom water cooler still the best.
Even better(ultimate silence) when we place the radiator/pump into
another room or outside and also use a water block for the GPU.

BTW, for AMD the best air cooler is Noctua NH-D15 when using with the offset mount bars.

Though I have seen that the ps120se beats the noctua and dark rock, other times matches it. In idling, preferred. Was certain though that it was the noctua "ua"?

Is a nice mount, but I might go with a solid thermal right. My snowman with this system and only two fans gets 12 degrees celsius while idling, and I have not hooked up the PCIe fan controller yet.

The links to the fans you posted look good. Will check them out. Was relating to aio's for the end user market, most I do is thrifty.

What I will do however is use all arctic 15mm fans. Only the 12 mm fans would be lesser known models. I would have gone scythe. I can always put phanteks halos on everything with an argb controller. Found a nice Asus one, and will be adding a wifi Alexa usb powered controller to seamlessly make all argb variate.

Anyway, AMD and Intel processors react differently to the same cooler.
The tests you saw were certainly not with the offset mounting bars.
We can also see the difference(for AMD) offset mounting makes in this test.

And there's the issue of how well the CPU heatspreader fits with

That's why I lapped my Thermalright FC140 to make it flat and better fit with AMD.
The baseplate of the Thermalright coolers is a bit convex and does not fit well
to AMD convex CPUs.

Thanks Pictus, I will look at the mount video. I'll also find those references I mentioned. The ps120se is pretty new, but already there's a lot of praise. I'll find the most relevant stuff.

Imo, two currents conflicting create more reaction, which is why I use the method described.
