That picture kinda reminds me of the Kens in the Barbie movie. My point? That alienating your customers is a dumb business move, just as Teksonik pointed out. But hey, it's not my problem, I simply don't use Rapid anymore and there are plenty of alternatives. It's their problem.
As for the enablers (fellow Kens) they're dragging themselves down, again, not my problem.

Nobody got alienated. Some people (actually mostly the same figures) simply rant and complain about almost anything.

Unfortunately, plugins do reach a saturation point where sales really drop and can no longer provide a living wage. At that point, feature updates slow down and usually, only compatibility updates are made available, q.v. every feature-complete plugin that's been released over ten years ago, but is still for sale.

I bought Rapid for it's sound and ease-of-use to replace Linplug CRX4. While it still works in Rosetta, it will never be, of course, M1/2 compatible.

My only concern is that the registration server for Rapid remains available in case an OS update knocks it out on my computer. So please, be kind to the authors of this plugin so they'll be kind to us.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

There is nothing arrogant about it.
More openness is inevitable in today's tight plugin market. If the author himself does not find the time or desire to communicate with people, he could find a spokesperson. TAL Software is a good example.

Again, I'm not blaming, I'm speaking for myself

Works amazing on Windows. Wonder if people should consider a windows virtual machine just to run plugins that apple always seems to f+*$ up with their updates? Might be a smart move, or only buy Apple official everything?

TAL-Software's communication is almost non-existant on their "support" forum here. And, I don't blame him. AFAIK, he's running the show alone, and surely has better things to do than chat with people here all day long.

I don't expect big updates every week, but at least a confirmation that the author hasn't given up on development. In my case, for example, it is important that I can open and edit my DAW sessions today even after several years. Can I rely on Rapid if maybe in a few years this instrument will not be supported? Maybe my concern is unnecessary, but the author does not make things better with his behavior.

P.S. I own Rapid and several extensions
For me it's more about time investment. I either bounce or freeze VI tracks before mixing anyways, too many variables that can cause you not to be able to open a project 1:1 in the future.

Out of curiosity, what do you usually reach for now instead when you think of using Rapid?

Bouncing instruments into audio tracks is unfortunately not an option for me, because I have to keep the ability to edit midi tracks in the future (these are backtracks for my band), therefore future-proofing is very important to me.

In Studio One you can freeze a track and still have access to the MIDI on the track. Most DAW's have an option to freeze and unfreeze. You could also do an export of your project as MIDI, once you start (or am done) mixing. Just as a fail safe.

Nah. We're judging them on their failure to participate in forums. Apparently, it's a moral failing. :hihi:
