Maybe still buzzkill worthy…
Does anyone know if Komplete Kontrol will work with AU plugins? If so, are there any limitation/disadvantage compared to using VST3?

I'm not sure that new polyphonic keyboards and an update to guitar rig are all that mind blowing or enough to change this general sentiment. I have slightly more hope now. If they made the Reaktor interface resizable and release a Massive X V2 with proper parameter automation, poly AT and an interface that doesn't look like a generic Reaktor synth with controls thrown all over the page, then I'll start to really get on board. That being said, I didn't update to the last Komplete and i suspect I will to the next one, as I would like Kontakt 7 and there will be a good bunch of stuff by then. Maybe even some more izotope/plugin alliance in the Collectors edition. My really out there hope is that the Wolfgang palm synths are reintroduced as PA/NI synths and included in Komplete Ultimate.

I hardly ever use Komplete Kontrol with my S49 MK2 as it’s a fairly painful experience, I much prefer using it with Maschine. Not sure how that’s gonna work out seeing as it looks like they’ve reduced Maschine integration in the new keyboards.

They are owned by Plugin Alliance now though so is that even a possibility? I'm guessing if they ever come back it will be under the NI installers? Which for me is easier than the Plugin Alliance stuff. I don't even remember what the license manager is for oberhausen. Searched my system for Plugin Alliance and brainworx. I though I remember it has a license manager of some kind.pdxindy wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 4:26 pmNo no no!Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 4:13 pm My really out there hope is that the Wolfgang palm synths are reintroduced as PA/NI synths and included in Komplete Ultimate.![]()

You must not do anything out of 4/4. Even something as simple as a quarter note complete stop in a piece of music makes working with Maschine's single meter timeline a total PITA. This is even worse if you dare use a time signature like 9/8. It's barely useable inside a DAW, it will respond to every signature change by changing the entire sequence, so it's best to eschew the internal sequencer entirely or export immediately leaving the song timeline blank. To do this the best method involves changing completely the way that Maschine addresses instruments and kits, I and the mod at NI forums came up with the full solution, it's still searchable there.wikter wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 5:35 pmWhat's wrong with Maschine sequencing? I have used MPC 1000 + 5000 and i have a MPC Live. Not much difference with Maschine "once you get used to".machinesworking wrote: Wed Sep 13, 2023 5:18 pm the fact that a piece of hardware with the ability to load Reaktor ensembles, has a sequencer worse than an MPC from 25 years ago is just wrong.
Compare this to the MPC which gives you multiple time signatures in it's own sequencer, and each instrument is set up like a complete separate instrument without any internal rewiring if you want to export MIDI to the DAW etc.
If all you do is 4/4 bangers then Maschine+ is in many ways better, but if you're into Warped records nerd stuff, and any sort of odd time signatures at any point in your production it's far more of a PITA.

GR6 was the worst and least supported update ever, how they have the nerve to do '7' is beyond me...they never finish anything they start, just do ting upgrades and more bundling and give it a major upgrade number to con people to upgrade.

For whatever reason, I keep thinking of people I've met that save their pizza boxes. Not sure why, but that undefined metaphor seems to be helping me from thinking NI is anything more than an after effect of a remorseful binge. PolyAT becomes a new Feta that we'll find out is the kind made from cows and without the flavor we expected. K7 and GR7 are just stuffing the crust. But we'll still have that box.

People lamenting over the the new S-Series MK3 getting rid of dedicated Maschine buttons should stick to their Maschine controllers and stop trying to push this very stunted music tool on others.

I didn't really use it because of the limitations... but I'm sad to see that functionality go. I bet the next version of Machine will support multiple time signatures, and aftertoucn, and decent automation editing haha!nightjar wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 6:24 pmSo so true...machinesworking wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 5:14 pm

Im assuming this is a no, considering how much KK was built on VST2.elxsound wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 4:09 pm Maybe still buzzkill worthy…

So I guess, I have to ask… is anything changing for NKS that would allow KK to work with AU plugs, or will it remain VST3 only on silicon macs?
If it’s VST3, I just need to go back and install that on the laptop. I want to make sure it’s seamless going between laptop and desktop.

I think VIP from Akai does something similar.davidka wrote: Fri Sep 15, 2023 4:56 am Is there an alternative to NKS in terms of plugin integration?

Wonder why such functionality isn’t provided by the DAWs ?
